I’m not sure if this is quite popular enough to count as a “trend,” but I’ve noticed that a lot of rarely-used words are popping up as names, and I think it’s very interesting. I’m not really talking about names like [name]Noble[/name] or [name]Poet[/name], which are rarely used as names but used quite commonly as words, but rather words that have better-used synonyms or have simply fallen out of use in everyday speech.
[name]Azure[/name], for example, is very rarely used colloquially; if I hear it, it’s probably in some type of poetry. [name]Boheme[/name] fits pretty solidly in the category, and I’ve heard Amor used for boys. Has anyone else heard any names or know any words that would qualify?
@goodkarmavt Not quite [name]Winter[/name] and [name]Snow[/name]- I’m thinking more along the lines of words that are rarely used in common speech. I think [name]Reverie[/name] and [name]Winsome[/name] fit.
To my mind, since English naming tradition is so divested from overt meaning, these are the only word names that don’t seem hokey.

Cadence, Valor and Winsome are good ones. I completely forgot about the whole Amity/Verity/Felicity family, but I think they’d qualify. And the more I think of it, the more it seems like a trend- science-related word names like Nova and Aurora are gaining popularity, and Genesis and Trinity are in the top 100. I think even some occupational names like Harper and Porter would qualify
Maybe even [name]Grace[/name]? or flower names like [name]Azalea[/name] or [name]Amaryllis[/name]. And even gem names like [name]Sapphire[/name] and [name]Emerald[/name]? [name]Do[/name] place names also count e.g [name]Miami[/name] and [name]Sydney[/name]
