Not sure what to do.

My husband and I are at war about the names of our children.

He wants it his way or he doesn’t care. He says he’ll just learn to like whatever I pick.

My family hates our choices, especially our parents. Never should’ve shared any of this with anyone, we WERE just so excited.

I’m going with what I want and they can just be mad if they don’t like what I pick. No more A, B, C names, no more 3 syllable fns with 1-syllable mns, no more. Sorry to rant, but I never thought baby naming would cause such an uproar.

So, names for baby A:
[name]Cecily[/name]/[name]Cicely[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name]
[name]Louella[/name]-growing on me
[name]Millicent[/name]
[name]Mirabelle[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]/[name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Margaret[/name]
again, our last name is Abrams. Thank you so much for your insight and patience, I don’t know what I would do without you!

i love millicent and matilda!!!

have you thought of romilly?

all the best xox

I think I had at one point, but I can’t remember.

I like [name]Matilda[/name] best, I think. [name]Matilda[/name] Abrams is lovely.

When it comes to picking names for children, just the mom and dad should get to decide.

Extended family have no right to flip out about your choices. I definitely wouldn’t share names with my family if they were super opinionated.

Fortunately, I have a family that usually keeps their opinions to themselves or just make a face and think of a nickname they can use.

It’s too bad your family is not supportive of your choices. You seem to have fabulous taste in names, all of your choices are lovely. I wish somebody had told me not to run names by family and friends, it just complicates the heck out of the whole process.

I think naming babies was much easier 30 years ago. No internet. No name books, no social security popularity lists.

I love [name]Emmeline[/name], [name]Matilda[/name] or [name]Cecily[/name] with your last name.

Sorry others are making this less enjoyable for you. Once the baby comes whatever name you pick will grow on those who might not care for it and they soon won’t be able to imagine her with any other name. The names on your list are wonderful. [name]Cecily[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Evangeline[/name] are my favorites. The only ones I don’t care for with your last name are [name]Millicent[/name] and [name]Mirabelle[/name]. The rest sound fine.

I really love your list. Most of these names are lovely; don’t listen to family’s opinions-- most of the time, they’re just talking about personal taste.

[name]Cecily[/name]: I would spell it this way, and I think it’s lovely!

[name]Emmeline[/name]: Pretty, but I’m not sure about the flow of [name]Emmeline[/name] Abrams.

[name]Imogen[/name]: I’ve never liked it.

[name]Louella[/name]: It seems very cutesy-- it definitely won’t age well.

[name]Millicent[/name]: Again, never been a fan-- I just think of millipedes and centipedes together.

[name]Mirabelle[/name]: [name]Lovely[/name] name!

[name]Beatrice[/name]/[name]Beatrix[/name]: I think I slightly prefer [name]Beatrice[/name], but both are nice.

[name]Matilda[/name]: I really like [name]Matilda[/name]!

[name]Evangeline[/name]: I love [name]Evangeline[/name]! It’s awesome with your last name, too.

[name]Margaret[/name]: I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]! [name]Margaret[/name] Abrams is perfect.

I love [name]Cecily[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name], and [name]Margaret[/name] but you can’t really go wrong!

Good luck!

More suggestions, just in case:

[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Vivian[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Helena[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Saskia[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Isobel[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]

I’m seriously debating using [name]Evangeline[/name] as the mn.

[name]Margaret[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] is one of my favorites.

[name]Cecily[/name] Abrams/[name]Cicely[/name] Abrams: I am fondest of [name]Cecily[/name], but with your name, I kind of like the way [name]Cicely[/name] looks more…
[name]Emmeline[/name] Abrams/[name]Imogen[/name] Abrams: The way I prn these (eh-meh-LEEN and ih-mah-[name]GENE[/name]) makes them more or less the same sounding, except for the L/G. With your name, I like the sound and look of [name]Imogen[/name] best.
[name]Louella[/name] Abrams: [name]Louella[/name] has been growing on me, too! However, if I used it, I’d probably go with [name]Louise[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] Abrams nn [name]Louella[/name], or something of that sort. ([name]Louise[/name] Abrams does have a nice ring to it.)
[name]Millicent[/name] Abrams: I love [name]Millicent[/name]! So sophisticated. And [name]Milly[/name] Abrams is ust divine!
[name]Mirabelle[/name] Abrams: For some reason, I’m not digging the frillier names with your last name–not sure why. [name]Mabel[/name] Abrams would be cute, though.
[name]Beatrice[/name] Abrams/[name]Beatrix[/name] Abrams: [name]Love[/name] both of these! I think I like [name]Beatrix[/name] best, since [name]Beatrice[/name] Abrams sounds a little like Beatrissa Brams…? There’s a certain finality with the X in [name]Beatrix[/name].
[name]Matilda[/name] Abrams: This sort of slurred when I said it; you’re probably better off with names that don’t end in A. However, [name]Matilda[/name] is a lovely name, and if you think she’ll be [name]Tilly[/name] Abrams or [name]Milly[/name] Abrams most of the time anyway, it probably doesn’t matter.
[name]Evangeline[/name] Abrams: Not crazy about it, but it’s pretty nonetheless.
[name]Margaret[/name] Abrams: Gorgeous! This combo is great!

Like a previous poster already mentioned, it is not a good idea to let extended family have a say in the name choosing. It will only complicate things (as you already know!). Maybe you should take a break from the name choosing for a week and let the storm settle. Then you and your husband can start fresh.

You are having triplets right? [name]How[/name] about you name baby A, he names baby B, and then you name baby C together? That might make things easier.

So, names for baby A:
[name]Cecily[/name]/[name]Cicely[/name]- I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Cecily[/name]. This is the name we have picked out for our first daughter and we both couldnt adore it more. It is so delicate and feminine. I would love there to be more Cecilys in this world. [name]Cicely[/name] looks like a miss spelt version of [name]Sicily[/name].
[name]Emmeline[/name]- Cute name
[name]Imogen[/name]- Eh, sounds harsh to me.
[name]Louella[/name]-growing on me- I dont like this at all.
[name]Millicent[/name]- Cute, dont love it .
[name]Mirabelle[/name]- Aww I like this one! Are you have G/G/B or G/B/B? Because [name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Mirabelle[/name] would just be lovely together.
[name]Beatrice[/name]/[name]Beatrix[/name]- Cute
[name]Matilda[/name]- [name]Love[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]- Eh, sounds like a word to me and not a name.
[name]Margaret[/name]- [name]Lovely[/name] name

My favorites are: [name]Cecily[/name], [name]Mirabelle[/name], [name]Matilda[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name].

[name]Do[/name] you know the gender yet?

Here’s another vote for [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name] Abrams! I think [name]Margaret[/name] Abrams sounds perfect, and [name]Evangeline[/name] in the mn spot is lovely. Beautiful all around!
