Hello. I write as a hobby. I’ve self-published one work of fiction, and I am interested in doing more. It’s true I’m more doing it as a way of expressing myself than as a way to sell books, but I would like to be good at it.
[name_f][/name_f]After I self-published my book, I noticed something about the rhythms of my female names. There were some exceptions, but the majority of them had 3-syllable first names. [name_f]Christina[/name_f]. [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]. [name_f]Valerie[/name_f]. [name_f]Lilia[/name_f]. [name_f]Gloria[/name_f]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m], although he’s not a female character. Yes, they are all members of the same family, but most of them didn’t start out that way. They became related through marriage and/or adoption, so looking back I don’t feel like they should have sounded[name_f][/name_f] related to begin with.
[name_f][/name_f]Then again, [name_m]Erich[/name_m] Segal named his main characters [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f], also 3-syllable names that echo each other, and [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Story[/name_f] was a hit.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Do[/name_f] you think this is an issue, or is it a non-issue?
