Noun names are trendy but have you seen this one yet?

I just heard of a baby born today named [name]Locke[/name].

rollo

Probably a family surname.

Yep, I’ve even seen it on Nameberry, haha. I love it, actually! I’ve heard a lot of Lachlans/Lochlans going by [name]Locke[/name], so I don’t think it’s that much of a stretch to use it on its own. It reminds me of [name]John[/name] [name]Locke[/name] from LOST. He wasn’t the best character, and I’m not sure I would want to be connected to the English philosopher [name]John[/name] [name]Locke[/name], either, but I do really like [name]Locke[/name] as a FN. It just seems so fun to me.

I assume it’s a family surname too. Either that or the parents are big “Lost” fans.

I kind of like it. I immediately think of [name]John[/name] [name]Locke[/name] and also of the TV show Lost, but it’s way better than a lot of other names out there! I could see [name]Locke[/name] being brothers with [name]Thatcher[/name], [name]Quinlan[/name], or [name]Ransom[/name]! haha

Yep. I actually knew a guy named [name]Locke[/name] in college. I’ve heard it quite a few times on this site, actually.

I’ve seen [name]Locke[/name] many times (both here and on other sites). I think it’s a strong and masculine name. I like it.

I actually like [name]Locke[/name], especially as a nn for [name]Lachlan[/name]. [name]Paten[/name] [name]Locke[/name] (it’s his last name though) is also the Olympic swimmer going head to head with [name]Michael[/name] [name]Phelps[/name].

Yup, I would think either family surname, huge “Lost” fans ([name]Locke[/name] was one of my favorite characters!), or big on philosophy. I guess if you’re way into the Enlightenment, [name]Locke[/name] is kind of poetic on a baby, tabula rasa and all.

Sound alone, I don’t dislike it! It’s very simple and strong sounding.

First thing I thought of was [name]Sherlock[/name] ([name]Holmes[/name], of course). I probably wouldn’t use it, but it does have a nice, masculine sound.

I have seen that on birth announcements and I knew a guy growing up named this.

I married a huge video game nerd and [name]Locke[/name] is a name from Final [name]Fantasy[/name] 6 and the hubby loves it! I hate to admit it but I kind of like it too! But I refuse to have a daughter named [name]Zelda[/name] that is where I draw the line.

Yes I’ve seen it but not in real life, there’s a duo on youtube called [name]Rhett[/name] and [name]Link[/name], and [name]Rhett[/name] has a son called [name]Locke[/name]. I think its really cute.

Not the biggest fan of [name]Locke[/name]…and I only know one guy named [name]Locke[/name].

My mind automatically goes to Lost.

All I can think of is Lost!

I didn’t watch the show much but I immediately think of Lost as well! It’s a nice nickname for [name]Lachlan[/name].

I know a girl named Lauck, which was a family surname. It worked. [name]Locke[/name] strikes me as easier to spell, which is a plus.
