Are [name]Nova[/name] and [name]Luna[/name] too matchy for twin girls?
[name]Both[/name] obviously have astronomical meanings (what we were looking for) as well as the same number of letters and ending in a -A.
[name]Do[/name] they ‘go’ or are they in danger of being to contrived.
Hmm, I like them together. [name]One[/name] thought is that [name]Luna[/name] is a lot more popular than [name]Nova[/name], that might concern me more than the “matching issues”. [name]Luna[/name] and [name]Stella[/name] are “better” matched in that way, although that might be too much - I kind of like it, and kind of don’t.
Individually, they are both nice names. I think you can do it. For other star names, I’ve been loving Sitara lately. [name]Nova[/name] and Sitara.
Some pairings that match two rarer names and maybe aren’t as obvious are:
[name]Nova[/name] and [name]Lyra[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] and [name]Tana[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] and [name]Vega[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] and [name]Alya[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] and [name]Azha[/name]
Pairing two more familiar and less obvious names:
[name]Luna[/name] and [name]Danica[/name]
[name]Luna[/name] and [name]Roxana[/name]
[name]Luna[/name] and [name]Tara[/name]
This list of other plantes’ moons is also helpful
[name]Luna[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name] might be nice - besides being a moon of one of the planets, I believe the name [name]Phoebe[/name] was associated with the Greek moon goddess.
[name]Luna[/name] and [name]Selene[/name]/[name]Luna[/name] and [name]Selena[/name] might be good for a similar reason.
I love [name]Nova[/name] and [name]Luna[/name]! They’re two of my favorite names. I think they go great together, but [name]Luna[/name] is a lot more common than [name]Nova[/name] so I probably wouldn’t pair them together. I love the astronomical, celestial theme!
What about:
[name]Nova[/name] & [name]Aster[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] & [name]Lux[/name]
[name]Nova[/name] & [name]Aurora[/name] - [name]Aurora[/name]'s becoming a lot more popular though…
I’m not the best at coming up with combos, but what about [name]Luna[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Callista[/name] and [name]Stella[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]/te [name]Carys[/name]?
I like the idea of themed twin names. I wouldn’t let the popularity of the names, [name]Luna[/name] and [name]Nova[/name] put them on the back burner. I think using [name]Celeste[/name] or [name]Celestial[/name] would be awesome.
I really love [name]Nova[/name], but I’m not as into [name]Luna[/name] for the loon sound and ut’s popularity. I love [name]Estrella[/name], [name]Ursa[/name], [name]Io[/name]…
I find [name]Nova[/name] & [name]Ursa[/name] to go particularly well. If you love [name]Luna[/name]…
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Calliope[/name] & [name]Luna[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] match really well.
I love this pair! I really like the name [name]Luna[/name] and always thought it sounded lovely with [name]Aurora[/name], but I like [name]Nova[/name] a lot too.
The popularity certainly doesn’t worry me - I’m British but I live in New Zealand and haven’t come across either name here so both will probably be relatively unused.
[name]Stella[/name] is a no-go for me. It’s the middle name of my friends daughter, who desperately wanted it to be her first name but her husband said no.
I love [name]Phoebe[/name]!!! And [name]Aurora[/name]. Maybe a middle name for [name]Nova[/name]?
[name]Nova[/name] [name]Phoebe[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] - too much?
I also like [name]Io[/name] but that would be a middle only - and would be quite difficult with the New Zealand accent i think.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Luna[/name] and [name]Nova[/name] together, I don’t think they’re too matchy at all. [name]Luna[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] sounds very “[name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name]” to me because [name]Luna[/name] and [name]Hermione[/name] are both prominent characters in the books. Whether or not that’s intentional, I think it’s awesome! As for a middle name for [name]Nova[/name], I think [name]Guinevere[/name] has the same feel as [name]Hermione[/name], it being a longer, unusual literary name. I also like the suggestion of [name]Nova[/name] [name]Calliope[/name]. For a second middle name, I like [name]Electra[/name], [name]Helena[/name], [name]Ophelia[/name] and [name]Phoebe[/name], which feel the same as [name]Callista[/name] to me.
These are my favorite combos:
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Callista[/name] and [name]Nova[/name] [name]Guinevere[/name] [name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Callista[/name] and [name]Nova[/name] [name]Guinevere[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name]
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Callista[/name] and [name]Nova[/name] [name]Calliope[/name] [name]Helena[/name]
[name]Luna[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Callista[/name] and [name]Nova[/name] [name]Calliope[/name] [name]Electra[/name]
