Nova or Lyra đź’«

What vibes do you get from nova and lyra? Will they age will? They remind of of Nora and Lila, and I think they could make a nice alternative er(maybe?) but I’ve always been unsure

What do you think? :sparkles:

Thanks

[name_u]Nova[/name_u] and [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] are cool and space-y, both give me bright yellow and deep blue colors, like outer space. :milky_way::dizzy::ringer_planet::fireworks:. I can see them on any personality and I think they will age well. I can imagine an adult [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] easier than an adult [name_u]Nova[/name_u] but I think by the time this generation grows up it will feel totally normal as an adult name.

I will say that I’m never sure how to pronounce [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]. To me it could be “leer-ah”, “lee-ruh”, “lye-rah” or even “lyre-ah” where it’s almost 3 syllables, and since I’ve never met one I don’t know how most people say it.

[name_u]Nova[/name_u]- I picture stars and galaxies! I do, slightly, prefer [name_f]Nora[/name_f], but I do think this a good alternative. I now a young [name_u]Nova[/name_u] and it fits her well.
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]- A beautiful, melodic choice, and it also has a cool space association! I think it’s an underused gem. I actually prefer this over [name_f]Lila[/name_f].

[name_u]Nova[/name_u] is sparky, celestial and cool. [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] is bright, musical, literary and lovely! I like both. In terms of aging well, they both have solid sounds and are fairly well in use at the moment, so in the generation they’d be growing up with now, they’d fit in just fine

For [name_u]Nova[/name_u] I picture galaxies and all things outer space, it’s cool and spunky. [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] is softer and I picture soft music in a light pink coloured room. It’s a hard choice, but I prefer [name_f]Lyra[/name_f].

They’re both spacey but [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] also has literary connections which help ground the name for me. [name_u]Nova[/name_u] feels very silvery and kind of flashy while [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] makes me think of lyres and Ancient Greece. I definitely prefer [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] of the two and in my mind it’s slightly less trendy. I also prefer [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] to [name_f]Lila[/name_f]!

I love both, but see [name_u]Nova[/name_u] as more of a pet name while I can see [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] working for a person. Slightly confused on the sheer number of pronunciations, I guess “leer-ah” and “lee-ruh” sound the same to me, as do “lye-rah” and “lyre-ah.” I like it best when it rhymes with [name_f]Kira[/name_f].
