We’re having our first child due in two months, a daughter, but we’re still stuck on a name. We’ve decided she’ll only have a first name and his last name, [name_m]Foster[/name_m]. Since both our names are peculiar as well, we wanted her to have somewhat of a different name too. I really like [name_f]Nova[/name_f] (from [name_f]Noa[/name_f]) and he is set on Espyn as derived from [name_m]Espen[/name_m].
I adore [name_m]Espen[/name_m], it is special to us through meaning. Although I only like it for a boy/man. I am also not personally fond of made-up spellings. Sorry.
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_m]Foster[/name_m] is sweet and beautiful. Definitely my favorite choice.
Another vote for [name_f]Nova[/name_f]. I might have chosen Espyn but I’m not fond of the spelling and prefer [name_m]Espen[/name_m]. I think to feminise a name it’s better to use a feminine middle name, I.e. [name_m]Espen[/name_m] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], or a nickname like [name_f]Essie[/name_f].
The first thing I thought of when I saw Espyn was ESPN! If you’re not set on no middle name, I think [name_f]Nova[/name_f] Espyn [name_m]Foster[/name_m] is lovely. Plus, every body I know without a middle wishes they had one. ”
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_m]Foster[/name_m]! I love it. Spunky, fresh and feminine.
I hate the made-up spellings, especially -yn instead of -on or -en, to make it “more feminine” (Cameryn, [name_f]Emersyn[/name_f], Masyn, [name_u]Aspyn[/name_u], etc). I only see [name_m]Espen[/name_m] on a boy. Sorry!
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] is beautiful, I would definitely go with that. Espyn is not my style and the minute I laid eyes on it I thought of the sports channel ESPN, just because I really don’t care for sports channels! I do rather like [name_u]Aspen[/name_u] and think it would be less problematic, I have a feeling it’s a more common spelling.
