Nova

Hello!

I have a little girl called Ava and I really love the name Nova for her sister… however are they too similar…?

Could I also please also ask opinions on Nova? I have been researching the name trying to make sure it had no really “bad” associations… and all I keep coming across is that there was a car with this name which I’ve decided isn’t enough to put me off :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: !

Any thoughts appreciated

I love the name [name_u]Nova[/name_u]! It’s very celestial. However, I do think [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_u]Nova[/name_u] are too similar. They’re both 2 syllables and both end with -va. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] or [name_f]Stella[/name_f] have similar vibes but might flow better than [name_u]Nova[/name_u].

[name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_u]Nova[/name_u] are very similar but I think they’re fine for sisters. I associate [name_u]Nova[/name_u] with supernovae and a lilte bit with novices.

I think they are too similar, both in look and sound. I also see them differently stylistically. I second the suggestion of [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f].

Thank you for the replies. I’ve considered maybe “novalie” to make it a bit different… but I would probably just use nova on a day to day so not sure whether that matters…!

The other two on our shortlist are [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] & [name_f]Clara[/name_f] which probably “go” better… however I just don’t like them as much! :pensive:

I think [name_u]Nova[/name_u] and [name_f]Ava[/name_f] are a little matchy but not unusably slow

I think [name_f]Ava[/name_f] & [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is a better option

i absolutely love Nova!! however [name_f]Ava[/name_f] is very similar to [name_u]Nova[/name_u] and unfortunately i don’t think they flow well together. some names that remind me of [name_u]Nova[/name_u] are: [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Astra[/name_f], [name_u]Harlow[/name_u], [name_u]Aspen[/name_u]

I love both [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_u]Nova[/name_u]! I think they have totally different vibes so I actually don’t think it’s a problem that they rhyme. The only time it’s going to maybe be an issue is when you have to introduce both at the same time, say to a baby sitter or something, since there’s a possibility of mix up with similar sounds. But tons of people choose matching first letters for their kids and it’s the same problem for them. If [name_u]Nova[/name_u] is your favorite then I would go for it! The only “bad” association I’ve got is that no va means no go in Spanish. Not so bad for a person but actually is bad for a car!

Everytime someone likes nova I suggest [name_f]Luna[/name_f] instead :sparkles::star::sparkles:

Sadly, I think they are too similar. :pensive:

I adore [name_u]Nova[/name_u] and [name_f]Ava[/name_f] but they are a bit similar. I do like the [name_f]Novalie[/name_f] option though!

Thank you for the replies!! I’m now trying to think of my friends sibling names to see if there’s anyone who has done the same… I know of a [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] & a [name_f]Leia[/name_f] - which I’ve never thought about until now…! Same start and end … would Ava& [name_u]Nova[/name_u] be along the same lines as this or worse/ better (?!)

I second Luna!! [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] would be beautiful :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thanks for reading! I have thought of [name_f]Luna[/name_f] but I’m a little unsure… i just prefer [name_u]Nova[/name_u]! Now I feel it’s more frustrating as it has taken me so long to find something I really like now I can’t use it…!
