So now that I’m actually expecting and would be 2 weeks now I want some honest opinions on my top 2 girls names. These are the 2 that will be in consideration for daughter number 1.
[name]Persephone[/name] [name]Elysia[/name] [name]Willow[/name] – [name]Elysia[/name] pronounced the Greek way eh-lee-see-uh
All names have significance and I can take your honesty. I’d love to know anything and everything you feel, think, picture, whatever about these names and which is your favorite.
WOW! Congrats on the pregnancy! My favourite is [name]Persephone[/name] [name]Elysia[/name] [name]Willow[/name] for defo. I am quite liking Mist as a middle though.
Mist is the name of one of [name]Odin[/name]'s Valkyries so it’s not just a word name either. We quite like the feeling that she would be a “warrior for [name]Odin[/name]”
[name]Hi[/name] Dantea, a huge congrats to you and your DH on your pregnancy! I know you’ve wanted it for awhile and now it’s reality and you get to name your baby! Yeah! I think [name]Persephone[/name] [name]Elysia[/name] [name]Willow[/name] is gorgeous and my fave of the two. It has a stunning blend of mythological and nature names. I like [name]Sylvana[/name] but [name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Mist has repetitive sounds (s’s, a’s and m’s) that I find very complicated to say. I said it aloud numerous times and my tongue just trips up.
[name]Persephone[/name] is such a wonderful name…I wish I had the guts to use it. Sephy is such a cute nn aswell. [name]Persephone[/name] Elyis [name]Willow[/name] gets my vote, haha!
[name]Persephone[/name] [name]Elysia[/name] [name]Willow[/name]- I love [name]Elysia[/name], but not [name]Persephone[/name] as much. I’m also not a fan of two middle names. That said, saying that name outloud, it is just beautiful… It’s musical and flows and just sounds like the name of a beautiful little girl.
[name]Silvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Mist- I like these names individually, but not together. [name]Xiomara[/name] is a GP of mine… (the fiance just laughs at me)
I like [name]Persephone[/name] [name]Elysia[/name] [name]Willow[/name] better… It’s just so pretty to say…
I agree with [name]Mischa[/name], [name]Silvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Mist is rather repetitive, but I adore Mist! Such a beautiful name with wonderful mythological connections, I’m in awe! ^^
Sylvestra [name]Zenobia[/name]/[name]Zenovia[/name] Mist would be better, but perhaps not as mellifluous…
[name]Persephone[/name] and [name]Elysia[/name] are also favourites, and I like everything about [name]Willow[/name] except for how popular she is.
Mixing my own combo from the names in your signature, [name]Elysia[/name] [name]Zephyrine[/name] Mist is where I end up. Maybe [name]Persephone[/name] [name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Signe[/name] although I’m not too fond of [name]Sylvana[/name].
I’ve loved Mist for a while, but it has to be a GP since Mist is just one letter away from the Norwegian word ‘miste’ which means to drop or lose something. I’m not sure my parents would appreciate it, although I know they’d let me decide…
I’m clinging to Disa, [name]Liva[/name], [name]Unna[/name], [name]Alda[/name], Tida, [name]Tora[/name], [name]Erla[/name], Lova, Eisa, [name]Eira[/name], Fryd and Duva though!
Thanks for your opinions so far girls! i love hearing your thoughts.
i agree there’s a lot of repetitive sounds, but ultimately I thought that since they’re middles, it wouldn’t matter as much.
@ dearest – I love [name]Unna[/name], [name]Tora[/name], Eisa (which on on my long list as [name]Sylvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Eisa) and [name]Eira[/name]!
Not crazy about Persophone or [name]Sylvana[/name]. I like [name]Elysia[/name] [name]Willow[/name] though. I would choose that on it’s own. It’s simple yet striking.
Congrats!!! I can only imagine how excited you must be,
Like most of the pp if not all I’d prefer [name]Persephone[/name] [name]Elysia[/name] [name]Willow[/name]. I think it’s got a great melodic flow and rolls off the tongue much easier than your other choice.
Oh My God, congratulations!!! So happy for you. I love both the names, very daring and different! Favourite is [name]Silvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Mist though, I love norse mythology and Mist is a cool name.
A million congrats, Dantea! [name]How[/name] exciting!
I like both of the first names, I see [name]Persephone[/name] mentioend quite a bit, but I highly doubt many people are actually using it - [name]Sylvana[/name] feels very fresh, though, I like it and I like the potential nickname [name]Sylvie[/name]. I adore [name]Persephone[/name].
[name]Persephone[/name] is a but much for a person, imo. It’s a lot of name, but I can see the appeal. I love the middle name of [name]Elysia[/name]!
I have a love for the name [name]Silvana[/name] because it’s my co-workers name, and she’s just a wonderful personality! I think it sounds beautiful and reminds me of [name]Silver[/name]. [name]Xiomara[/name] is exotic imo, and Mist is far more “domestic” feeling, so those too together feel off.
I don’t mean to nitpick at all! I really like [name]Silvana[/name], [name]Elysia[/name], and [name]Xiomara[/name] a lot. Congrats on your pregnancy!
I think your combos work just fine, but of course, you’re an old pro at this point
I prefer the [name]Silvana[/name] spelling, personally.
[name]One[/name] of my own rules is syllable balance. Your combos are 4-4-2-? and 3-3-1-? respectively. That’s the only issue I could come up with, but that’s truly a matter of personal preference and dependent on one’s own pet peeves
I love [name]Persephone[/name] [name]Elysia[/name] [name]Willow[/name], not something I would usually go for but sounds beautiful when you say it out loud. There’s a lot of cute nn potential there too and it combines three slightly different styles so no matter what your little girl’s taste turns out to be, I think there will be something there she will love to be called! Perfect! Though if you really have your heart set on Mist, which is beautiful all on its own, I think [name]Persephone[/name] [name]Willow[/name] Mist is pretty too! CONGRATULATIONS!
I love [name]Persephone[/name] [name]Elysia[/name] [name]Willow[/name]! [name]Persephone[/name] is just so much fun to say, [name]Elysia[/name] is absolutely gorgeous, and [name]Willow[/name] is one of my favorite nature names.
[name]Xiomara[/name] looks pretty cool, although I’m not quite sure how to pronounce it. Is it like [name]Zee[/name]-oh-mar-ah? I prefer [name]Sylvia[/name] or [name]Sylvie[/name] to [name]Sylvana[/name], though, and Mist just isn’t my style.
[name]Persephone[/name] [name]Elysia[/name] [name]Willow[/name] is gorgeous. [name]Persephone[/name] is so accessible but a lovely reflection of your heritage, [name]Willow[/name] somehow “grounds” the name a bit. I think you’ve got a winner here.
[name]Sylvana[/name]/[name]Silvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Mist…it’s pretty, but too airy (not sure if that makes sense! it’s just very…misty? All three names are very breathy to me) like a huge exhale! The first combo feels more, not substantial? Balanced?
I should get my butt back over to the momberries board, but how did you find out at 2 weeks? I’m guessing you’re actually “4 weeks” in the whole you get to add those bonus weeks from before you ovulated. I’m just jealous you found out so early since it seems like I get to wait forevvvverr to take that $@&$ test.
Congrats!
[name]Persephone[/name] [name]Elysia[/name] [name]Willow[/name] – [name]Elysia[/name] pronounced the Greek way eh-lee-see-uh
I love the way this name flows!
[name]Sylvana[/name]/[name]Silvana[/name] [name]Xiomara[/name] Mist
This name doesn’t flow as well imo visually. The X trips me up & the familiar word/yet very unique as a name Mist surprises me.
I prefer [name]Silvana[/name] over [name]Persephone[/name]…[name]Silvana[/name] is soft but sharp, a silver fish cutting through water while [name]Persephone[/name] is soft & marshmallowy & pink.
All names have significance and I can take your honesty. I’d love to know anything and everything you feel, think, picture, whatever about these names and which is your favorite.[/QUOTE]
