My cousin raved about this forum so I knew to come here! Our fourth baby is a girl and we’re stuck.
Last name [name]Crosby[/name] and despite all of DH’s hockey-loving wishes, I’m not budging on the name [name]Sidney[/name]
We wouldn’t use nicknames for any of the names. Here’s our 3 kids names and the list:
[name]Gavin[/name], [name]Nate[/name], [name]Tessa[/name] and……
[name]Claire[/name] (Not sure how sounds with last name)
[name]Charlotte[/name] (again, how does it sound with last name? )
[name]Elise[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] (Edited 1/13 to add, I forgot to include it originally!)
[name]Miranda[/name]
[name]Sophia[/name]
To be honest, the majority of your list seems to formal to fit with [name]Gavin[/name], [name]Nate[/name], and [name]Tessa[/name] which all strike me as very informal, nickname-y type names. [name]Miranda[/name] wouldn’t be bad at all and is probably my favorite with the sibset. HOWEVER, if it was [name]Sophie[/name] (which strikes me as much more casual) then I would say [name]Sophie[/name]. Good luck!
I really love [name]Charlotte[/name]. I think it sounds fine with your last name whereas I don’t think [name]Claire[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] sounds as good. The reason, because [name]Crosby[/name] has a hard C- as does [name]Claire[/name]. [name]Charlotte[/name] has a Sh- sound that sounds just fine with [name]Crosby[/name].
I think [name]Claire[/name] sounds best with [name]Gavin[/name], [name]Nate[/name], and [name]Tessa[/name], and I think [name]Claire[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] sounds fine. [name]Sophia[/name] is nice with these names as well.
[name]Charlotte[/name] is my favorite from your list but I think [name]Claire[/name] and [name]Elise[/name] fit the best with your other children’s names. [name]Elise[/name] goes better with your last name so I vote for that one.
I really love the idea of [name]Claire[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] or [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Crosby[/name]. I especially love the alliteration with [name]Claire[/name], but I especially love [name]Charlotte[/name] (both in general and as a little sister to [name]Gavin[/name], [name]Nate[/name], and [name]Tessa[/name]). So [name]Charlotte[/name] gets my vote, with [name]Claire[/name] as a close second. [name]Do[/name] you have a MN set? I like the idea of both [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name] and [name]Claire[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name]…
[name]Both[/name] my husband and I love the sound of [name]Claire[/name] [name]Crosby[/name], we think that the hard C’s actually make it a pretty awesome name, and that [name]Claire[/name] fits perfectly with her siblings names
Geez, I think I’m the only one who thinks that [name]Miranda[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] sounds amazing.
P.S. I’m close to Pittsburgh and I adore [name]Sidney[/name] [name]Crosby[/name], AND was pregnant with a boy when they hoisted the [name]Stanley[/name] Cup. I was a heartbeat away from naming him [name]Sidney[/name]
My favorite is [name]Elise[/name] of your choices. It sounds great with [name]Gavin[/name], [name]Nate[/name], [name]Tessa[/name] …and [name]Elise[/name]! I’m not a fan of the two consenent sounds “CC” fn, ln, together. Also, the short “a” sound from [name]Tessa[/name] might seem to rhymy with [name]Lydia[/name], [name]Miranda[/name], or [name]Sophia[/name]. Your children have wonderful names by the way!
[name]Love[/name] [name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Claire[/name]! I like alliterative names because they are easier for people to remember and I think they sound great as long as they are not similar beyond the first letter. [name]Claire[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] sounds nice. [name]Lydia[/name] is lovely too!
There is something about the r placement in [name]Claire[/name] [name]Crosby[/name] that makes it hard for me to pronounce, not the hard c (which I actually like). I would suggest maybe [name]Chloe[/name] instead.
From your list I like [name]Sophia[/name] and [name]Lydia[/name], but I agree with a pp that [name]Sophie[/name] would be a perfect match.
BTW, I love your other kids names, especially [name]Nate[/name]
Good luck.
