[name]Forrest[/name]- Someone else suggested [name]Forrest[/name] to me and I really like it
[name]Harmon[/name]- NMSAA
[name]Merritt[/name]- NMS, interesting though
[name]Newton[/name]- NMS
[name]Henry[/name]- I feel like I should like this name, but it doesn’t appeal to me. I do like when other people use it, though.
[name]James[/name] – reminds me of my friend from high school that died…sad
[name]Adrian[/name] – I considered this one too, but decided against it
[name]Leo[/name] – [name]Love[/name] it on it’s own
[name]Julian[/name] – [name]Love[/name] it, prefer [name]Julius[/name], but love it
[name]Oliver[/name] – love it. So spunky and cool, but not for my kids
[name]Benjamin[/name] – [name]Love[/name] it. I considered at one point
[name]Julien[/name] – I like it, but not spelled this way
[name]Madeline[/name] – very pretty but not for me
[name]Elizabeth[/name] – overdone
[name]Ella[/name] – again, nms at all
[name]Christie[/name] – nms at all
[name]Hermione[/name] – [name]LOVE[/name] I love the mythology connection and I love the Greek pronunciation hair-mee-OH-nee
[name]Antoinette[/name] – [name]LOVE[/name]. I only know one (who goes by [name]Kitty[/name]) and I love it so much, but not for my kids
[name]Grace[/name] – so overdone
[name]Katharine[/name] – Classic and lovely, but NMS
[name]Charlotte[/name] - it’s pretty but it isn’t a name I would use
[name]Keira[/name] - cute but not for me
[name]Cara[/name] - pretty but I wouldn’t use it
[name]Abigail[/name] - pretty but I just think of one friend [name]Abby[/name] so I wouldn’t use it
[name]Grace[/name] - I really like this (and [name]Gracie[/name])
[name]Elizabeth[/name] - pretty and classic
[name]Maura[/name] - very pretty but not my style
[name]Ava[/name] - adorable but too popular
[name]Owen[/name] - love it
[name]Ryan[/name] - my brother’s name
[name]Shane[/name] - not my favorite
[name]Sean[/name] - nice but I prefer the [name]Shawn[/name] spelling
[name]Shayne[/name] - even worse with the y
[name]Colin[/name] - it’s ok but I definitely like the two l’s [name]Collin[/name] better
[name]Liam[/name] - nice name
My Favorites:
[name]Ivory[/name]
[name]Imari[/name]
[name]Estelle[/name] (I can’t use this because I have a cousin named [name]Stella[/name], so I was excited for an inspired alternative.)
[name]Everett[/name]
[name]Graham[/name]
[name]Nixon[/name] (can’t use, so again excited for an idea based this one)
Recommendations:
[name]Olivia[/name] -A cousin on each side of my family is named [name]Olivia[/name]. Otherwise, I think it’s adorable, but too overdone for me.
[name]Violet[/name] - A friend is using this one. I love it.
[name]Grace[/name] - nms
[name]Olive[/name] - [name]Olive[/name] sounds a too bit masculine for me.
[name]Cordelia[/name]- I don’t love it.
[name]Lucy[/name] - Not a fan. For some reason it’s a name that I can easily envision on tiny babies and on old women, but not any ages between.
[name]Charlotte[/name] - Eh. I like [name]Colette[/name] better (too bad it’s already my niece’s name).
[name]June[/name] - Adorable, but probably not one I’d use.
[name]Cecil[/name] - My dad used to call me [name]Cecil[/name] occasionally, so this one’s out for me.
[name]Benjamin[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like, I never have.
[name]Emmett[/name] - I prefer my choice of [name]Everett[/name], but it is a nice name.
[name]Oliver[/name] - [name]Love[/name].
[name]Reid[/name] - this one is actually on my short list.
[name]Henry[/name] - Reallly dislike [name]Henry[/name], probably largely due to bad association.
[name]Edmund[/name] - meh. I like it more than [name]Edward[/name], but I’m not liking it.
[name]Iris[/name], [name]Miranda[/name], [name]Eloise[/name], [name]Marlowe[/name], [name]Roscoe[/name], and [name]Wallace[/name].
[name]Lucille[/name] – Of the [name]Luc[/name]- long forms I prefer [name]Lucinda[/name]. [name]Lucille[/name] is lovely, but feels a little dated.
[name]Violet[/name] – So pretty! [name]Violet[/name] was in my top ten for a long time, but she’s been replaced in my affections by the quirkier, more mysterious [name]Iris[/name].
[name]Amelia[/name] – Yawn. It’s cute, but I’ve known several.
[name]Claire[/name] – Bad associations! I’ve known two women with this name who turned out to be insane (and that’s not hyperbole). Beautiful, but I wince whenever I hear it.
[name]Charlotte[/name] – Again, yawn. I like it better than [name]Amelia[/name], but its popularity turns me off, as does the Sex and the City character.
[name]Marina[/name] – A place where you dock boats.
[name]Myles[/name] – I like [name]Miles[/name], but prefer [name]Milo[/name] (can you tell I’ve got a thing for boys’ names that end in ‘o’?).
[name]Owen[/name] – No opinion. I’d like it on someone else’s baby, but personally I find it a bit bland.
[name]Cornelius[/name] – I kind of love the ridiculous over-the-top quality, but all the nicknames are terrible ([name]Corny[/name]? [name]Neal[/name]?). I would never use it, but it certainly has the clunky-cool charm of another favorite: [name]Ferdinand[/name].
[name]Rudy[/name] – I [name]LOVE[/name] R-names for boys—[name]Rupert[/name], [name]Rufus[/name], [name]Rory[/name] and [name]Roscoe[/name] are all firm favorites. [name]Rudy[/name] does still have an old man whiff to it, though.
[name]Celeste[/name] – Sleek, elegant, but forever Babar’s wife to me, unfortunately.
[name]Spencer[/name] – This is actually adorable, though I’m not sure how it would wear on a full-grown man.
[name]Marcel[/name] – Too overtly French for me to use, but it’s got a great sound and I could see it rise as an attractive alternative to [name]Marcus[/name].
[name]Diana[/name] – A beautiful old name associated, to me, with a deity and a children’s book author. I would use it in the middle spot.
When I “rolled” the Nymbler again, I got a lot luckier: [name]Claudia[/name], [name]Beatrice[/name], [name]Gabriel[/name], [name]Jules[/name], [name]Antonia[/name], [name]Helena[/name], [name]Calvin[/name], [name]Leo[/name]…I love them all!
My inspirations:
[name]Elliot[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Silas[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]
Boys:
[name]William[/name] - My fourth favorite boys name. It’s a versatile classic.
[name]Barnard[/name] - Eh. It’s nothing I’d use. Too close to barnyard. I like [name]Barnabas[/name] better.
[name]Leo[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this. I like [name]Leland[/name] and [name]Leon[/name] a bit better, but I do love [name]Leo[/name].
[name]Jack[/name] - Good solid classic. But since it’s my uncle’s name, I wouldn’t use it.
[name]Noah[/name] - I like it, but I’m oversaturated, having heard it so much.
[name]Al[/name] - [name]Just[/name]… [name]Al[/name]? No thanks.
[name]Marius[/name] - I love the idea of this as a middle name. It’s handsome and dashing.
Girls:
[name]Charlotte[/name] - Good, solid classic.
[name]Lena[/name] - Eh. It’s okay.
[name]Grace[/name] - Solid name, but I heard it SO much.
[name]Eva[/name] - Well, I prefer the longer, more frou frou [name]Evangeline[/name]. But it’s a good name.
[name]Isabelle[/name] - Another solid name. I hear this one so much, and it’s a shame, because it’s lovely.
[name]Essie[/name] - Not a fan. I suppose it could be a cute nickname.
[name]Claudette[/name] - Not a fan.
[name]Genevieve[/name] - It sound nice, but I have a negative association with the name.
Boys:
[name]Jack[/name] - I like it a lot, It has been on my list before
[name]Sebastian[/name] - [name]Love[/name], a MN on my list
[name]Dominick[/name] - not sure why this one popped up but I like my spelling better
[name]Owen[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name], on my list for good
[name]Noah[/name] - Also definitely on my list
[name]Ross[/name]- I love it, not sure if I would use it, but I like it
[name]Charles[/name] - Another favorite of mine
Girls:
[name]Lila[/name] - [name]Love[/name], recently added it to my list
[name]Lucy[/name] - I like it a lot
[name]Lena[/name] - I have [name]Elena[/name] on my list and I strongly prefer it
[name]Rose[/name] - So boring…
[name]Julia[/name] - I like a lot of other Jul- names better
[name]Amelia[/name] - Used to me a favorite of mine, but I still like it
[name]Antonia[/name] - I have been considering this one a lot lately.
Girls:
[name]Lana[/name] - NMS. I don’t like that this can be pronounced so many ways (I’ve heard lah-nah, lay-nah, la-na with an a like in apple…)
[name]Maeve[/name] - NMS. Too short.
[name]Cara[/name] - It’s ok but I prefer [name]Cora[/name].
[name]Juliet[/name] - Pretty.
[name]Charlotte[/name] - This was on my list for a while (or is it still? haha). It’s pretty, I just don’t love it.
[name]Abigail[/name] - I really like this but it’s so popular.
[name]Grace[/name] - Too boring.
[name]Ava[/name] - Too popular, especially in my area.
Boys:
[name]Brendan[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this name! But a distant cousin has a [name]Brenden[/name]… we keep in contact quite a bit.
[name]Oliver[/name] - It’s ok.
[name]Henry[/name] - This name has grown on me so much! Still don’t know if I love it enough to put it on my list.
[name]Owen[/name] - Like it.
[name]Garrett[/name] - I do like this name but I really hate the potential nn [name]Gary[/name].
[name]Duncan[/name] - I like it but this is a friend’s last name so it might be odd.
[name]William[/name] - Too plain for me.
Girls:
[name]Lucy[/name] - A little too cutesy for me. I greatly prefer [name]Lucinda[/name].
[name]Caroline[/name] - Stately, but boring.
[name]Violet[/name] - Pretty.
[name]Alberta[/name] - [name]Albert[/name] with an ‘a’ tacked on the end… definitely not my style. On the other hand, at least it’s unusual. I would prefer [name]Roberta[/name].
[name]Ida[/name] - All right, but not substantial enough for me.
[name]Amelia[/name] - I’ve never cared for the sound of this name. Makes me think of the word “mealy.”
[name]Charlotte[/name] - I really like this name; it’s appealing and dignified.
[name]Elizabeth[/name] - Like [name]Caroline[/name]: stately, but boring. On the other hand, it does have a lot of awesome nicknames.
Boys:
[name]Arthur[/name] - Meh. I like the historical connotations, but the name itself is a bit dated and just ok. The potential nickname “[name]Art[/name]” is not my taste.
[name]Russell[/name] - I don’t like it at all. It has a dated, gawky, country feeling.
[name]Benjamin[/name] - Very nice, though a bit common.
[name]Norman[/name] - I like a good Germanic name, but [name]Norman[/name] is still in old-man territory for me. The nickname “[name]Norm[/name]” is not appealing.
[name]Leonard[/name] - Yuck. [name]Leo[/name], [name]Leon[/name] and [name]Leonardo[/name] all sound better to me.
[name]Gilbert[/name] - Pretty ugly. The only selling point is the “[name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables” association.
[name]Henry[/name] - Very nice, and I’m glad it’s enjoying a resurgence.
I would consider [name]Henry[/name], [name]Benjamin[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name] and maybe [name]Elizabeth[/name]. Most of the boys’ names, in particular, are NOT my style. On the other hand, I would consider all these names to be fine on someone else’s kid.
Roderick (m) - love it!
Waldemar (m) - love it!
Annalise (f) - it’s okay
Bernadine (f) - intriguing
Genevieve (f) - it’s alright, but I prefer Genevra
Archibald (m) - like, a lot (love the name itself, but hesitant about the nickname Archie)
Teagen (m) - not bad; not sure how I feel
Tione (f) - quite intriguing
Elliot (m) - like
Cristina (f) - meh
Oliver (m) - it’s not bad
Sylvester (m) - like a lot
Charlotte (f) - Good name; overdone as of late. Prefer Char as a nickname to Lottie.
Lucy (f) - it’s okay
Abigail (f) - it’s okay; also overdone
It was better at predicting boy names I like, at least in this round.
I love this idea!

[name]Leah[/name]-like!
Girls! Freddie So sweet! I don’t usually like boys-names-as-girls-names, but this is cute. Mattie Equally cute! Lillie [name]Ah[/name], they’ve caught on to my weakness for the “ie” ending, I see. But yes! Olivia I’ve cleaned the houses of too many Olivias already, thank you. Hettie Yup, also adorable. Ella Pretty, but too trendy/not my taste. Flossie If I didn’t know someone with this name, I might like it more. Georgie NGL, they’ll get me with every one of these. [name]Precious[/name]. Grace Gorgeous, but the name of a friend’s daughter. Carly No way. Lily Yes! … I want Marauder-era babies. Maxie I love [name]Max[/name] too much… unless I was never having another boy, I wouldn’t consider this. Lou Comes off as a middle name to me. Lucy Sweet, but also the name of a friend’s daughter. Violet Very pretty! If I were doing a flower theme, absolutely.
Boys! Sonny … And his twin sister, [name]Cher[/name]? No. Absolutely not. Noah I feel rather… eh about this name. [name]Don[/name]'t dislike, don’t love. Benjamin [name]Lovely[/name]! Although I knew a [name]Ben[/name] that gave me Bad Associations. Leo Noooooo. Vince I like this name… but I knew an incredibly charming [name]Vince[/name] in high school. Bert I like [name]Sesame[/name] [name]Street[/name] as much as the next person, but not a chance. Joe No way. Abe I do like [name]Abraham[/name], yes. James To go with my [name]Lily[/name]? Yes yes yes. Owen Not a huge fan. [name]Don[/name]'t hate it, though. Henry Sweet! Not my first choice, but I do love this name. Cal [name]Will[/name] always make me think of Titanic. No. Finn I used to love this name, but now… Glee associations. Connie For… a… boy? … Jake Nice-ish, but it calls to mind too specific of a man. No room to grow.
[name]Antonia[/name]- I would never use this as I detest the nn [name]Toni[/name] for a girl, but it’s not awful.
[name]Emily[/name]- A bit bland and 90s for my taste.
[name]Grace[/name]- Again, I find this a little bit dull and overused over the last 20 years.
[name]Audrey[/name]- Like this a lot, but don’t love it.
[name]Lucy[/name]- Pretty, but again too popular/overused in recent years for me.
[name]Mercy[/name]- NMSAA
[name]Clare[/name]- I have an irrational dislike for this name.
[name]Elizabeth[/name]- [name]Love[/name] this. Nearly chose it as an inspiration!
[name]Warren[/name]- NMSAA
[name]Simon[/name]- Yes, really like this name.
[name]William[/name]- Like it, but it’s way too popular for me.
[name]James[/name]- Like this too, but again too popular/overused.
[name]Mark[/name]- I find this dated and dull.
[name]Oliver[/name]- Dislike it although this opinion may have been influenced by hearing it too often (it’s no.1 here)
[name]Benjamin[/name]-Dated and boring, in my view.
Hmm, only one for each was truly accurate ([name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Simon[/name]) and a couple of the others were close to my style ([name]Audrey[/name], [name]James[/name]).

[name]Emilie[/name]–already used in my family

[name]Joseph[/name]–not a fan
[name]Henry[/name]–love, another top on my boy list
