Occitan names

hi there!

I’ve noticed [name_f]Clarimond[/name_f] pop up on here a few times recently and it’s had me thinking about Occitan names. I’ve spent a lot of time in that région and even lived there for a while but the only truly Occitan name I encountered was [name_m]Titouan[/name_m] (the younger brother of a friend). I think it would be lovely to use an Occitan middle name if I have children so I’m looking for suggestions! Following because many of these are totally new to me, and beautiful too! I’ve heard of [name_f]Anaïs[/name_f] and [name_m]Titouan[/name_m] but didn’t know the specific language of origin.

I love Mireio, Eisabèu/Isabèu, Tisbèa (is this a form of [name_f]Thisbe[/name_f]?), Amadeu and Beròt! Off to research some more…

I love all of these but especially [name_f]Anaïs[/name_f], Veziade, and Amadeu (my pet is called [name_m]Amadou[/name_m]!)

Tisbèa is a form of [name_f]Thisbe[/name_f] yes! I feel like it could work so well because it kind of combines Greek mythological names with ‘bea’ which I love aesthetically but am unsure of in terms of as a nickname for [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]/Beatrice.

I love Dalphina, Galiane & Isadau omg. I feel like the Occitan forms of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] are the best!
