I really like [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] as a name; it has a beautiful sound and great meaning/mythology. [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] is a bit too much as a first name imo – but would make a really cool middle for [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] is gorgeous!

I don’t think it matters much that middle names aren’t common where your husband’s from, or that her surname will be double-barrelled. Middle names don’t come up that often anyway and I know plenty of people with a middle name and a double-barrelled surname.

I hope you decide on something that you both love!

[name_m]How[/name_m] are you planning on pronouncing [name_u]Ocean[/name_u]? [name_m]Will[/name_m] it be O-shen, or O-c-en? If you use the second pronunciation then I like [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]

I’d vote in favor of using a middle name, like another poster pointed out it wouldn’t be too much of an issue despite the long surname. As a person without a middle name I’ve always wished to have one, I dislike my first name and wish I had another option.

Thank you, all! It’s so good to get a second (and third, and fourth :)) opinion. Husband likes [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] too!
