[name_m]Just[/name_m] curious as to your thoughts on [name_f]Octavia[/name_f]…
I have a new found love for it, so I’m just wondering if it’s a crazy crush or an actually useable gem.
All thoughts and comments welcome!
Thanks berries! Xx

Absolutely usable. I always like [name_f]Octavia[/name_f].
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f] is definitely usuable.
Congrats on your marriage!
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f] is definitely usable - I know of a couple [name_m]IRL[/name_m]. It’s got quite a “posh” vibe here in the UK (I’d say), but it’s a strong, striking name and I like it. [name_u]Tavi[/name_u] is a sweet but strong nickname, too.
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] [name_u]Kay[/name_u]! Another Aussie berry!
I don’t remember seeing your signature before?
Anyway, I also love [name_f]Octavia[/name_f]. I don’t think I would use it as a first name, but I definitely find it usable. And the nickname [name_u]Tavi[/name_u] is just the sweetest!
Thank you! Been pretty blissful - 3 week holiday together is just amazing!
There is something a bit posh about it, now that I think about it. But it’s also strong and down to earth. I think that vibe is stronger to me than the poshness, so not too worried.
Hey hon,
Haha, I don’t know… I’ve been a member for a year or so, but I tend to post in bursts shrugs
Thanks for your thoughts. We like names like [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], [name_f]Mercedes[/name_f], [name_f]Olympia[/name_f], etc, so for us I think it would be fine as a first name. It’s nice to hear a positive response to the name though!
I hadn’t thought of [name_u]Tavi[/name_u] as a NN - cute suggestion.
I’ve just added it to my list! It took a while to grow on me, but I think it’s strong, and feisty, a really bad ass name that might belong to a warrior queen bringing down a corrupt regime from the inside or something. I really like it! It’s perfectly usable in my opinion in the first or middle spot. I like the slight musical connection with octave too.
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f] is a great name and definitely usable. I really love [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] recently but couldn’t find a middle name for it, sadly.
It also took me awhile to really love [name_f]Octavia[/name_f]. It’s still not on my top favorites but I would love to see someone else use this name!
I am not personally fond of [name_f]Octavia[/name_f]. I find it harsh sounding. I have never known or met an [name_f]Octavia[/name_f], so my thoughts are based only on the name itself, sound and looks.
Another [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] fan here. I think it’s more usable now than ever—I think of [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] [name_u]Spencer[/name_u] and the [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] on The 100.
I agree with pps that [name_u]Tavi[/name_u] is a sweet, fun nickname. The one on The 100 gets called “O” as a nickname, which is also super cute and works for any O- name.
It’s on my husband’s and my long list… agreed to use if we have have a girl born in [name_u]August[/name_u] or on the 8th of any month. We’re inspired by the writer [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] E. [name_m]Butler[/name_m]. Agree is sounds posh in a British context, but it’s super pretty anyway.
I love [name_f]Octavia[/name_f]! Very underused. I think it makes a good alternative to [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].
I’m obsessed by this name lately, and in love with [name_f]Ava[/name_f], as a nickname. [name_f]Octavia[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f], love it so, so much. ”
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f] is an amazing name!
I also love [name_f]October[/name_f].
[name_u]Leslie[/name_u]
I have so much love for [name_f]Octavia[/name_f]! It was always vetoed by DH though.
I had it has [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] nn [name_u]Tavi[/name_u] or Tava on my list.
Wow! So much love for [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] Nice to see I’m not insane! Haha
I do agree with a lot of you that it takes a while to warm to, but I found that once I did I just totally fell in love with it.
What do you think about NNs?? Something sweet? Or classic?? I have no inspiration for combinations… so any thoughts?
Another great fan of [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] here! For middle names I like [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f].
I love it. Loved it as soon as The 100 aired and one of my favourite actresses, [name_f]Marie[/name_f] Avgeropoulos, took on the role of [name_f]Octavia[/name_f]. I can see why people warm up to it over time though.
My favourite nickname for [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] is [name_f]Avia[/name_f]/[name_f]Avie[/name_f]. [name_u]Tavi[/name_u] is also a sweet, non feminine NN.
