I have similar connotations aswell and think its more ‘beautiful’ and mysterious because of the O, than [name]Cosette[/name] and other ette names.
I’ve known a few odettes and I can’t imagine it on a young person, to me the name is too old fashioned but not in a chic revival way, plus ive always thought Swan [name]Lake[/name] was sad so I wouldn’t want to use a name so strongly connected to it.
I think [name]Odette[/name] is nice. It has soft and elegant image.
I adore it.
I think of a beautiful girl with a talent for singing, and a lovely disposition. I picture her to be dedicated and thoughtful, but not one to be pushed over. She handles conflict with tact and respect.
I prefer it for a middle myself, but I still love it as a first.

I adore [name]Odette[/name]! It’s been on my list forever as [name]Liliana[/name] [name]Odette[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] and I think that’s just stunning but I’ve been doubting [name]Liliana[/name] lately and thinking about how much I don’t want to lose [name]Odette[/name]! I imagine a slightly reserved, cultured, kind, smart, charming girl, maybe with some French background. When I tossed [name]Odette[/name] around as a FN for a short while, I liked [name]Odette[/name] [name]Carolina[/name] and [name]Odette[/name] [name]Sophia[/name] a lot.

I just think of swans. [name]Odette[/name] and Swan [name]Lake[/name] are much more closely tied in my mind than in most people’s, however, so I wouldn’t tell you not to use it.
Separating the name from Swan [name]Lake[/name] (which for me is virtually impossible, but for argument’s sake,) it’s nice enough. I wouldn’t use it, and I prefer the sound and nickname potential of [name]Colette[/name], but it’s not a bad name.
I must be a 6 yr old girl at heart, because I think of the Swan [name]Princess[/name] movie immediately! I think it’s a great name - unique, not overused, still easy to say/spell.
[name]Kerrie[/name] I think of the Swan [name]Princess[/name] movie too!! [name]Odette[/name] has always been a real Ballerina name for me. So when I think of a little girl named [name]Odette[/name] I think of elegance, pink, girly, sweet. And I love, love, love names starting with ‘O’
Oh yes i forgot it was the main charater in Swan [name]Princess[/name]! [name]Alexa[/name] i love O names aswell. But i think i prefer this one in the middle place.

I think it’s elegant and mysterious and gorgeous. I wouldn’t be brave enough to use it (I’m a wuss) but I would be tickled if YOU would! It’s definitely in my top ten favorites just one I don’t feel I could truly use.
