What are your thoughts on the name [name]Odile[/name]? I understand that she is the bad one in Swan [name]Lake[/name], correct? Would you use this name (most likely in the middle)? Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Yes, [name]Odile[/name] is Odettes evil twin, as a fan of Swan [name]Lake[/name] it’s a name I couldn’t bring myself to use but I’m not sure that many people feel the same way. I think you might have prn issues in the states because people might rhyme it with crocodile like the poster above mentioned. That being said I don’t think it’s unusable but I would put it in the middle.
I love [name]Odile[/name]! I happen to know two [name]Odile[/name]'s, despite it being such a rare name (one is in the US, on in Europe). I don’t remember pronunciation problems for either of them. I do understand the negative associations with Swan [name]Lake[/name], but I think that [name]Odile[/name] is just so much sleeker than [name]Odette[/name]. The name oozes sophistication to me.
I never really saw [name]Odile[/name] as evil, more unfortunate. Anyway, [name]Odile[/name] is way more fun to watch than [name]Odette[/name]. And she’s [name]Von[/name] Rothbart’s daughter, not [name]Odette[/name]'s twin. I know she is in some productions, but the original wasn’t.
I think some might associate it with vile, or crocodile.
I like [name]Ottilie[/name] and [name]Odile[/name] as a middle.
