Thinking of a [name_f]Mary[/name_f] related middle name for our third daughter. Older sisters have [name_f]Marie[/name_f] & [name_f]Marin[/name_f] for middle names and would like to continue the trend.
[name_f]Reese[/name_f] will be littlest sister’s name and I think I am having a hard time finding the right fit.
Preferably two syllables to match the naming pattern with older sisters (but also seem to go back to Marian/Marion). So far all the usual suspects don’t seem to flow with [name_f]Reese[/name_f] (Mara, [name_f]Mia[/name_f], [name_f]Mari[/name_f], Molly) looking for some more unusual or off beat versions of [name_f]Mary[/name_f].
Of the names that have been mentioned I like R33se [name_f]Mariel[/name_f], though it has three syllables. [name_f]Do[/name_f] your older daughters have one syllable first names or are they longer? Sometimes it sounds balanced when the total syllable count of the first and middle names of each child is the same.
A two syllable name that has not been mentioned is Maisie… R33se [name_f]Maisie[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Reese[/name_f] [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] or [name_f]Reese[/name_f] plus a double-barrelled as suggested above: [name_f]Reese[/name_f] Mary-Clair/ [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is stunning, and I also like [name_f]Reese[/name_f] Mary-Faye and [name_f]Reese[/name_f] Mary-Fleur. You could also use it to honour someone, eg [name_f]Reese[/name_f] Mary-Christine (which is quite frenchy and swish).
What about [name_f]Reese[/name_f] [name_f]Malou[/name_f]? [name_f]Malou[/name_f] is a [name_f]French[/name_f] contraction of Marie-Louise, and I think she’s adorable with [name_f]Reese[/name_f]! [name_f]Reese[/name_f] [name_f]Manon[/name_f] (mah-noh(n)) is sweet too. Other ideas:
[name_f]Reese[/name_f] [name_f]Maja[/name_f] (Maya)
[name_f]Reese[/name_f] Miren/Mirren
[name_f]Reese[/name_f] [name_f]Maris[/name_f] (feels a bit hissy though)
[name_f]Reese[/name_f] Miriam/Reese [name_f]Miri[/name_f]
[name_f]Reese[/name_f] [name_f]Malia[/name_f]
[name_f]Reese[/name_f] [name_f]Masha[/name_f] (the Russian diminutive of [name_f]Maria[/name_f], sort of like [name_f]Misha[/name_f] or Sasha… I’m a sucker for [name_f]Masha[/name_f], but [name_f]Reese[/name_f] [name_f]Masha[/name_f] is a bit hissy too)
[name_f]Reese[/name_f] [name_f]Marielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Reese[/name_f] [name_f]Mariana[/name_f] (longer, but still pretty!)
For what it’s worth, I like [name_f]Reese[/name_f] [name_f]Mara[/name_f] and [name_f]Reese[/name_f] [name_f]Molly[/name_f] quite a bit. I do think [name_f]Reese[/name_f] [name_f]Malou[/name_f] is nice, though, just because the emphasis is on the second syllable - I think that helps with flow a little bit, since [name_f]Reese[/name_f] is so short!
One of the names I couldn’t use but absolutely live is [name_f]Ainhoa[/name_f], a Basque version of [name_f]Mary[/name_f].
[name_f]Marielle[/name_f]
[name_f]Myriam[/name_f]
[name_f]Amaia[/name_f]
