Officially a girl! Help!

We have asked a few times for names, but we just found out it’s officially a girl (of course we had boy names we loved, but are more on the fence about girls). Here is a list of our top ones (several of which have been suggested by you previously, so thank you!!) and some others we like and are open to suggestions for. I love old lady names (my husband doesn’t) and my husband loves more nature/trendy names. Thanks!

Top:
[name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Cambria[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Ember[/name_u]

Other names/combos:
[name_f]Azalea[/name_f] [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]
[name_f]Sabrina[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_u]Adler[/name_u]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] (husband’s all time favorite)

[name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_u]Harper[/name_u] is an absolute delight!! [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Ember[/name_u] would be my second pick!!

LOVE [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_u]Adler[/name_u] :heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

I definitely think there is an overlap in old lady names and nature names!! [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] definitely fits this category. [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] is some ways could because of the [name_u]June[/name_u] part of the name but maybe not as strongly as some others. Other ideas that came to mind are:

I love [name_f]Fern[/name_f] - [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_u]Harper[/name_u] is nice. [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f] [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u], [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_u]Adler[/name_u], [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] are intriguing too & sound good

If I may suggest a couple more combo ideas - [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] (I actually love this) [name_u]Briar[/name_u] [name_f]Judith[/name_f], [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] or [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] & [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Augustina[/name_f].

You could also maybe use [name_u]Jude[/name_u] as a middle name to honour [name_f]Judith[/name_f] (just noticed @Greyblue has suggested [name_u]Jude[/name_u] too)

[name_m]Ah[/name_m], I love so many of these suggestions! I think the new ones I love are [name_u]Briar[/name_u] [name_f]Judith[/name_f] and [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_u]Blair[/name_u]. We discussed [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], but I don’t think my husband wants to use [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] for a middle name.

@MusicWaves we have actually talked about so many on your suggested list!! You definitely nailed both of our styles. Ultimately most of those were narrowed off in favor of the ones we currently have but there are a few new ones I can float by him!

I actually love [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] as a first name for you guys with the cute nn [name_f]Juni[/name_f] or [name_u]June[/name_u]. To me that sounds like a perfect mix of your love of “old lady” / vintage names and your husband’s love of nature names. It’s a beautiful name

[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Ember[/name_u] would be my pick

[name_f]Augustina[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] would be delightful!

[name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] or [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Augustina[/name_f] could be really pretty too.

[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Ember[/name_u] is fierce! I like it

I love your taste! [name_f]Every[/name_f] name on here is swoonworthy! Loving [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Cambria[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Ember[/name_u] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_u]Adler[/name_u] :purple_heart:

I would pick between those three personally. They are perfect!

However if your husband has his heart set on [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]

[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_u]Blair[/name_u]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_u]Lark[/name_u]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Opal[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]

I also love [name_f]Augustina[/name_f]. I have [name_f]Augustina[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] on my list.

Forgive the alliteration but I think [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Judith[/name_f] has all the sass of a real life [name_f]Junie[/name_f] B [name_m]Jones[/name_m] and easily fits both nature and old fashioned. She could be [name_f]Junie[/name_f], [name_f]Judy[/name_f], [name_u]Jude[/name_u], JJ, [name_f]Juju[/name_f] B. I just think it’s super cute

[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] would be my second choice

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] is gorgeous and a great compromise between vintage and floral.

Fern Harper is GORGEOUS
Juniper would be a great sister to Fern too

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Here are my thoughts on your list-

[name_f]Fern[/name_f] Harper-Fern is so darn cute. It reminds me of the little girl in Charlotte’s [name_m]Web[/name_m]. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I’m not huge into [name_u]Harper[/name_u], as it is way trendy. It’s fine as a mn though. If I can mix & match w/the other names on your list, I like [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Augustina[/name_f].

[name_f]Violet[/name_f] Cambria-Violet is friendly & classic & a tad quirky & has beautiful imagery. It’s a little more popular than [name_f]Fern[/name_f], but not too too popular? [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] is a bit fussy for me, but this combo does flow well.

Alice-Ooh, that’s a neat combo. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is lovely & smart & classic too! I hear it a lot if you’re worried about popularity, but worth it for such a lovely name.

[name_f]Azalea[/name_f] Sawyer-I don’t like [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] for a girl, but I completely adore [name_f]Azalea[/name_f]. Such a fun interesting gorgeous botanical name. I like [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] [name_f]Judith[/name_f]?

[name_f]Sabrina[/name_f] Carlisle-Sabrina is cute. It doesn’t sparkle for me as much as some of the others. It’s maybe a little snooty, but still a pleasant name.

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] Adler-I love [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]! [name_u]Love[/name_u] the flower, & it’s hard to say the name w/out a smile.

Juniper-Super cute & kind of mystical. I like the nns Junie/June/Juno a lot as well. I do know like five of these though.

Hazel-I like it. It’s vintage, but feels a little more over done & not as sparkly as some of the other floral names on your list.

Blair-Something about this feels like a snobby girl to me. But it’s still a nice sounding name that’s fairly interesting w/out being too out there.

Judith-Not my favorite as a fn, although I love the sentiment.

Augustina-Same as above.

Briar-I want to like this one, but just not a fan of the sound.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Ember[/name_u] the best!! All of your names are very aesthetically pleasing though, which isn’t common

[name_f]My[/name_f] first vote would be [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] so hubby could get his all time favorite. Looks and sounds beautiful. Of your combos listed I like [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_u]Harper[/name_u] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_u]Adler[/name_u].

I love [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Ember[/name_u]. From the other names/combos on your list, I think [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f], [name_u]Briar[/name_u], [name_u]Juniper[/name_u], and [name_f]Augustina[/name_f] are also really special. [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Augustina[/name_f], [name_u]Briar[/name_u] [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f], [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_u]Blair[/name_u], and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] are some combos that come to mind.

Some other potential ideas are [name_f]Clover[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], June/Juno, [name_f]Delia[/name_f], [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], [name_f]Claudia[/name_f], and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f].

Congrats and good luck!

Thank you all for your kind words and suggestions! I should have mentioned our last name starts with a hard G, which also makes it a bit more dicey for thinking about what initials may be (like Fern Augustina, which I think is lovely but won’t work initials wise). My personal favorite is Fern Harper (classic old lady name but not very common, combined with the trendy names my husband likes), but would also be so pleased with Violet Cambria or an Alice combo!

I have considered names a hobby of mine for several years and have worked hard on our name list for a while so happy to hear other people find them as pleasing as I do!

Violet Cambria is stunning!

I also like Azalea Sawyer and Juniper. I wouldn’t pair it with another er/ar sound.
Juniper Cambria
Juniper Hazel
Juniper Violet
Juniper Daisy
Juniper Azalea
Juniper Fern
Juniper Sabrina
Juniper Alice
Juniper Judith (though I’m not an alliteration fan, it’s cute)
Juniper Augustina
