I love this name however, the amount of spellings just makes my head spin!
I’m more attracted to [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] with [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Anabel[/name_f] after, but I’m much more attracted to [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]. I recently started talking to a new mother in a shop and I asked what she had called her little girl and she said this name and I asked out of curiousity which spellingshe decided to use and she said [name_f]Anabell[/name_f] and followed that up with “It’s the best spelling of the lot, in my opinion”.
I have an [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] so clearly that’s my preference, but [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is also lovely.
I would pronounce [name_f]Anabelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Anabell[/name_f] as ahn-uh-bell as opposed to [name_f]Ann[/name_f]-uh-bell.
[name_f]My[/name_f] own rule in general is to go with the most popular spelling - although I obviously broke that rule with my daughter’s name. I just love the [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] spelling so much!
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]- elegant and feminine but sleek and streamlined. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is a bit too princessy for me.
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is my favourite spelling of this name.
I think one of the more popular spelling here is [name_f]Annabell[/name_f] (so that people won’t add the -e to the pronunciation).
I like [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] because of [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is second for me, and [name_f]Anabel[/name_f] third. I really dislike the other variants.
I prefer [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], a la the poem by [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allan[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u]. It just seems more understated and chic to me. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is nice too, but very frilly.
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is my name, so I’m definitely biased towards that spelling! I equally love [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] though, but to me it has a different feel so it really depends on what your naming style is!
