When I was 18 weeks pregnant, we were told we were having a baby girl.
I had three very solid girl names lined up for husband to pick from. ([name_f]Aria[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Aria[/name_f], and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Nova[/name_f])
30 weeks now and we found out that baby is actually a boy, who was carefully hiding his parts at the previous ultrasound.
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] and [name_m]Archer[/name_m] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] are the two named that I had really liked, but my husband has passed hard on them.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions to throw out at me, bearing my taste in mind? PLEASE. lol.
He has nixxed [name_u]Mason[/name_u] and [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]. [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] is a family baby name already. [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] was his dog’s name when he was younger so even though I love it, it’d be weird lol. We already know 3 baby Oakleys.
He likes names like - [name_m]Ethan[/name_m], [name_u]Owen[/name_u], [name_m]Cole[/name_m], [name_m]William[/name_m]. ([name_m]Ethan[/name_m] and [name_m]Cole[/name_m] are our two youngest sons, and I refuse to name my child [name_u]Owen[/name_u] lol)
For now, I would just focus in finding a first name you both love and then adding a middle that complements it. In your signature I really like [name_m]Axel[/name_m] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m].
It’s hard, not knowing what your husband prefers in names.
A few ideas though:
Might he like [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] instead of [name_m]Weston[/name_m]?
[name_m]Archibald[/name_m] or [name_m]Archie[/name_m] instead of [name_m]Archer[/name_m]?
[name_u]Lennox[/name_u] instead of [name_m]Maddox[/name_m]?
[name_m]Mannix[/name_m] instead of [name_m]Maddox[/name_m]?
[name_m]Linus[/name_m] instead of [name_m]Silas[/name_m]?
And I actually prefer [name_u]Winter[/name_u] as a male name.
Did he pass on the names entirely or did he like parts just not the whole? Because if he liked any of the firsts or middles that could be a point of compromise!
You mention this is your last baby, so without the need to “reserve” any girls names, I’d go to your girls’ list for inspiration:
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] --> [name_u]Ari[/name_u], [name_u]Ariel[/name_u], Arion
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f] --> [name_u]Noel[/name_u], [name_m]Noam[/name_m] (or anoother -el ending name like [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m])
[name_u]Winter[/name_u] --> lots of -er names out there for boys, [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] has a similar sound, maybe [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] has a more similar feel, or, [name_u]Winslow[/name_u], [name_m]Winston[/name_m] if you want the “win” part; I also think of names like [name_u]Flynn[/name_u], [name_m]Flint[/name_m], [name_m]Clint[/name_m], [name_m]Kent[/name_m]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] --> [name_m]Willem[/name_m], [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u], or the classic [name_m]William[/name_m]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] --> since I suggest a few “no” names above, let’s go from the “v”: [name_m]Victor[/name_m], [name_m]Vance[/name_m], [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this gives you some inspiration. Congratulations on your (surprise!) boy!
