OH Has Okay'd Some New Names - What Do You Think?

deleted post

I bolded the ones I like and think are nice with [name]Claudie[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name]:

My favorites (in no particular order):
[name]Aria[/name]
[name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Hadley[/name]
[name]Lyra[/name]
Serephine

I’m really not a fan of [name]Pippa[/name] and I also think it’s a bit too matchy with [name]Penelope[/name]–at least for my tastes. I don’t think it would be too weird to pick the name [name]Mae[/name] if it is a name that you truly love. If the first part your niece’s name is something else I don’t think it would be too confusing for them.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Claudie[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name]!
Also love clementine!
[name]Claudie[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
And… In revision to your list:
[name]Claudie[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] [name]Mai[/name]
Adahlia [name]Jane[/name]; [name]Adelia[/name], [name]Adalia[/name] ([name]Ada[/name], [name]Adeline[/name], [name]Dahlia[/name])
[name]Tessa[/name] [name]Seraphine[/name]
[name]Clementine[/name] Estée
[name]Aurelia[/name] [name]Baye[/name] ([name]Aria[/name], [name]Ariana[/name])
[name]Cassia[/name] Brienne
[name]Zara[/name] [name]Evenie[/name] ([name]Yara[/name], [name]Zaria[/name])
[name]Mirabelle[/name] ([name]Mira[/name], [name]Mirelle[/name])
Isilee ([name]Isaline[/name])
[name]Rosaline[/name] Aliese
[name]Lena[/name] [name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Leila[/name] [name]Mai[/name]
[name]Thea[/name] [name]Amaris[/name]
[name]Estella[/name] [name]Jane[/name] (Estée, [name]Anela[/name])
[name]Ameline[/name] [name]Mira[/name] (my great grandmothers name. Lebanese form of French [name]Emeline[/name] BTWs)

You have some really good choices! Good luck

[name]Claudie[/name], [name]Penelope[/name] and sisters…

[name]Ada[/name]
[name]Adeline[/name]/[name]Jessamine[/name]/[name]Rosaline[/name]/[name]Seraphine[/name](too bad you can only choose one. I must have a “line” obsession :))
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Rosanna[/name]
[name]Talitha[/name]
[name]Tess[/name]/[name]Tessa[/name]
[name]Thea[/name]
[name]Gisela[/name]

[name]Talitha[/name] is pronounced “ta-[name]LEE[/name]-tha”. I would only use [name]May[/name]/[name]Mai[/name] as a mn if you have a niece with it.

I like:

[name]Aria[/name], [name]Ariana[/name], [name]Jane[/name], [name]Josie[/name], [name]Mira[/name], [name]Seraphine[/name], [name]Tessa[/name].

With [name]Claudie[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name] I like: [name]Adeline[/name], [name]Dahlia[/name], [name]Jessamine[/name], [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Talitha[/name], and [name]Clementine[/name].

My favorites are:

[name]Ada[/name], [name]Adeline[/name], Aliese (spelled differently…normally I’m all for more “unique” spellings but this one doesn’t look right to me), [name]Amaris[/name], [name]Aria[/name], [name]Calla[/name], [name]Cassia[/name], [name]Celia[/name], [name]Dahlia[/name], [name]Isaline[/name], [name]Jessamine[/name], [name]Lana[/name], [name]Lelia[/name], [name]Lyra[/name], [name]Maelys[/name], [name]Milla[/name], [name]Mira[/name], [name]Rosaline[/name], [name]Rosanna[/name], Satya, [name]Seraphine[/name], [name]Thea[/name], [name]Yara[/name], [name]Zanna[/name] and [name]Zaria[/name].

LOVING [name]Amaris[/name], [name]Lelia[/name], [name]Maelys[/name], [name]Milla[/name], Satya, [name]Seraphine[/name], and [name]Yara[/name]. I’ve never even seen some of them before. But those are brilliant! Also loving [name]Jessamine[/name], [name]Aria[/name], [name]Lana[/name], [name]Rosaline[/name], [name]Rosanna[/name], and [name]Zanna[/name].

You might like the name [name]Rose[/name]-[name]Mai[/name] since theyre both on your list! Would make a good mn combo with most of your other likes
[name]Adeline[/name] [name]Rose[/name]-[name]Mai[/name] sounds good to me

[name]Love[/name]:
Aliese (but not this spelling)
[name]Aria[/name]
[name]Bria[/name]
[name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Everly[/name]
[name]Hadley[/name]
[name]Josie[/name]
[name]Lyra[/name]
[name]Rosalia[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name]

My top ten from these, with [name]Claudie[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name], would be (in no particular order)

[name]Adeline[/name], with NN [name]Ada[/name]?
[name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Hania[/name] (a huge GP for me)
[name]Leila[/name]
[name]Mirelle[/name]
[name]Rosalia[/name]
[name]Seraphine[/name]
[name]Talitha[/name] - I would say Ta-lee-tha but I think [name]Tabitha[/name] with an L could also work
Clemeinte
[name]Giselle[/name]

Best Wishes

Bump  Thanks!

Any input greatly appreciated!

[name]Just[/name] a note, I actually like [name]Baye[/name] as well. Not sure why it wasn’t on my original list. I think if you spelled Aliese as [name]Alise[/name] or [name]Alyse[/name], she could still get the nickname [name]Allie[/name]. [name]Even[/name] Alese maybe? The “ie” just looks a bit off.

Unfortunately I do think [name]Cleo[/name] and [name]Clementine[/name] are too close to [name]Claudie[/name] :frowning: Speaking of [name]Claudie[/name], Seirien is AMAZING! I love the whole combo!

[name]Ada[/name] - yes as a name, maybe no if you use [name]Claudie[/name] or [name]Penelope[/name]. Feels similar to [name]Claudie[/name] to me, d without a ton of other sounds, short next to [name]Penelope[/name].

[name]Adeline[/name] - Yes. lovely although not a natural fit to me with [name]Claudie[/name] or [name]Penelope[/name] (but not a bad one)
[name]Alba[/name] - no. I see it, but too old lady and too Spanish too fit.
Aliese - no, spelling is too tricky.
[name]Amaris[/name] - can’t get into it, don’t see it with the other two.
[name]Amaya[/name] - pretty, but too close to trendy [name]Maya[/name] for me
[name]Ameline[/name] - Yes. I like it with [name]Claudie[/name], less so with [name]Penelope[/name] but it’s OK. I’d prefer [name]Adeline[/name] though, and they’re so close.
[name]Anela[/name] - don’t get this name.
[name]Aria[/name] - no, too trendy compared to the other too
[name]Ariana[/name] - maybe
[name]Baye[/name] - too insubstantial
[name]Bria[/name] – too insubstantial
Brienne - too made-up
[name]Calla[/name] - only if you won’t use [name]Claudie[/name], I think they’re too close
[name]Cassia[/name] - yes if you’re OK with the same initial thing (ongoing for all C’s)
[name]Celia[/name] - no, still kind of close to [name]Claudie[/name] to me
[name]Celeste[/name] - Yes. Nice name and good with with the others.
[name]Cleo[/name] - no, too close
[name]Dahlia[/name] - I love this name, not sure how I like it with [name]Claudie[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name]. Maybe.
[name]Elle[/name] - yes with [name]Claudie[/name], less so with [name]Penelope[/name]
Esteé - yes
[name]Evenie[/name] - yes, beautiful!
[name]Everly[/name] - no, too trendy
[name]Hadley[/name] - no, too trendy
[name]Hania[/name] - don’t get this name
[name]Isaline[/name] - yes. I don’t know what to make of this name but I like it with [name]Claudie[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Jane[/name] - I love this name but can’t see it with [name]Claudie[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Jessamine[/name] - YES, love this name and it manages to capture the Frenchness of [name]Claudie[/name] and the length of [name]Penelope[/name]. Would fit so well.
[name]Josie[/name] - too nickname-y. [name]Josephine[/name] or Josseline/[name]Jocelyn[/name] would fit well with [name]Claudie[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name].
[name]Lana[/name] - a little close to [name]Claudie[/name] for me…
[name]Lelia[/name] - a little too lightweight for me
[name]Lyra[/name] - too trendy for me
[name]Maelys[/name] - like the name, not the spelling
[name]Mai[/name] - like the name, it’s odd with [name]Penelope[/name] maybe…
[name]May[/name] - same as [name]Mai[/name]. I’m not sure about the thing with your cousin [name]May[/name], you’ll have to see how she feels : D.
[name]Milla[/name] - yes, I can see this working.
[name]Mira[/name] - yes, I can see this working.
[name]Mirelle[/name] - yes, do you mean [name]Mirelle[/name] or [name]Mireille[/name]? Either way, it’s up there with [name]Jessamine[/name] in belonging on a list with [name]Claudie[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name].
[name]Pippa[/name] - yes, too close.
[name]Rosalia[/name] - yes, but I like [name]Rosaline[/name] better
[name]Rosaline[/name] - great fit! Up there with [name]Jessamine[/name] and [name]Mirelle[/name]/[name]Mireille[/name].
[name]Rosanna[/name] – too much [name]Rosanne[/name] to me
Satya - don’t know what to do with this in your set, no…
[name]Seraphine[/name] - maybe. I like it like a lot of the longer French names for you, except it screams Affleck baby to me.
[name]Talitha[/name] (how do you pronounce this? Like [name]Tabitha[/name] with an l? Or ta-[name]LEE[/name]-tha?) - I’ve heard both : D. I use the [name]Tabitha[/name] one more personally. [name]LOVE[/name] this name, and think it’s great to get a whole new tradition with [name]Claudie[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name], you’ve got French, Aramaic, and Greek.
[name]Tess[/name] - too short
[name]Tessa[/name] - yes. Short like [name]Claudie[/name] but Greek like [name]Penelope[/name].
[name]Thea[/name] - maybe…feels a little lightweight with [name]Claudie[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Yara[/name] - maybe. Can’t fully figure this one out.
[name]Zanna[/name] - too zany for me.
[name]Zaria[/name] - too new age-y for me.

[name]Just[/name] read your update: interesting the popular ones were many I picked, hope the explanations help.
I wouldn’t run away from [name]Talitha[/name], in my experience people don’t use ta-[name]LEE[/name]-tha exclusively. Although people would guess it sometimes, maybe that’s enough of a drawback.

I love [name]Celeste[/name] but was trying to avoid the same initial as [name]Claudie[/name]. If you don’t mind children having the same initials, put me down for one vote!
