OH hates 3 or more syllable names

Does anyone else have an OH who says no to any names that are three syllables or more? For some reason, mine has a weird hang up about multisyllabic names which means lots of my favourites (particularly for girls) have been given a big fat NO this week.

Goodbye [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]. Goodbye [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]. Goodbye [name_f]Valentina[/name_f]. Goodbye [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. :frowning:

Would love to hear if anyone had similar problem and found a creative way to get a YES to a longer baby name.

I think I might have to get creative and find long two syllable names that make us both happy e.g. [name_f]Florence[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], [name_f]Margaux[/name_f].

Well… One thought is the melody of the first middle and last name together.

Margeux [name_u]Julie[/name_u] [name_u]Keegan[/name_u]

Is like duh-duh duh-duh duh-duh.
There’s not rhythm to it.
If your last name is 2 syllables it’s best not to do a two syllable. Three really is better.

But naming is about compromise.
Ex:
He could name the first one.
You name the second one.

Another thought, on “official documents” sometimes the longer names are better as far as rounding out the names.

Here’s another thought. [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] can be [name_u]Julie[/name_u].
Two syllable first name three syllable middle name.
Nn are going to happen too. Why can’t the nn be a 2 syllable?

Is there a. Particular reason he hates them? Does he think the just sound to flowery? Or is it because he doesn’t like the rhythm? Or doesn’t like the way they look?
I could see a few different ways to handle it either get a multi syllabic name that doesn’t sound girly, or get a two syllable name that looks/feels long or get a name with a diphthong that could be pronounced with two or three syllables or get a short multi syllabic name. I would recommend…
