I saw a birth announcement from someone I know who named their new baby boy:
Braddock Riddle
I don’t like Braddock…but Riddle!? I can’t even believe it!
Thoughts?

Here where I live ([name_u]West[/name_u] [name_u]Texas[/name_u]), Riddle is not an uncommon last name. So perhaps it’s honorific, mother’s maiden name or something like that. (?)
I agree with peanut. I immediately thought it was probably used to honor someone through their surname.
Maybe they’re [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] fans
Maybe the mother doesn’t know who the baby’s real father is…that would be the Riddle behind the name. Sorry but that’s the way my mind is working today.
I’m assuming Riddle is the middle name, not the last name?
Riddle is actually really cool in the middle name slot. Braddock Riddle sounds like someone I want to be friends with.
I wouldn’t like it in the first, but I’m up for about anything in the middle as it rarely gets used. It might have some sort of significance to her. Besides that, it does sound sort of cool. It’s got a good sound. I don’t like Braddock, but I can see the appeal of Riddle in the middle (couldn’t help myself)
I know someone with the MN Riddle. Like other suggested, Riddle was his mothers Maiden name and maybe it’s the same in this instance too?
Homage to Voldemort? I mean, it’s not like you could actually name the kid Voldemort. ([name_m]Just[/name_m] kidding!)
I’ve seen Riddle as a surname, so my first thought was that it’s a family surname.
Surely that name has a story – and I love names with stories. It’s cool that it’s in the middle where he can share if he wants to, and if not just ignore it.
Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard!
My first thought was Voldemort…At least his first name’s not [name_m]Tom[/name_m]!
