I really need to buckle down and start thinking more seriously about a name for this little bundle in my tummy! I’m focusing on a girls name first as that is what I think I’m having, after I have that nailed down I’ll move onto a boys name (just in case)!
My kids names are [name]Jackson[/name], [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Lily[/name]
The names on my list so far are
[name]Nola[/name] - this is my husbands fav
[name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Maya[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name]
Im sure [name]Ive[/name] thought of others but can’t remember any! See I need to get serious! LOL
I know, My girlfriend named her daughter [name]Emily[/name], I thought it’s too popular (I think #1 at the time) but now she’s in school and no [name]Emily[/name]'s in sight! Another friend named her daughter [name]Kara[/name], not popular and in kindergarten had another [name]Kara[/name] in her class! Who knows! So far there are no [name]Maya[/name]'s or [name]Amelia[/name]'s in my circles (school, church, neighbors, family).
[name]Jackson[/name] and [name]Wyatt[/name] are so great together! They have a great rugged western vibe, and [name]Lily[/name] is sweet and earthy. My favorite is [name]Nola[/name]. Straightforward, pretty but not cutesy and very down to earth. My second choice would be [name]Maya[/name]. Sweet and Simple. [name]Amelia[/name] feels a bit more frilly to me, as does [name]Scarlett[/name]. I do like [name]Annabel[/name], but it feels long with [name]Jackson[/name], [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Lily[/name].
With [name]Jackson[/name], [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Lily[/name]:
[name]Annabel[/name] - good fit stylistically but for some reason I just don’t feel it
[name]Amelia[/name] - better
[name]Maya[/name] - sounds very much like [name]Wyatt[/name] when I say them aloud - is it just me?
[name]Scarlett[/name] - I have never been a great fan of [name]Scarlett[/name] but I do think it fits in with your family very well. Shares double t with [name]Wyatt[/name].
Other ideas:
[name]Mia[/name] - kind of combines [name]Maya[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Ella[/name]
[name]Constance[/name]
[name]Kinsey[/name]
[name]Darcy[/name]
[name]Harper[/name]
[name]Molly[/name]
I like [name]Mia[/name] and had thought of it as a nn for [name]Amelia[/name], but my girlfriend has a yappy little dog named [name]Mia[/name] that has sort of ruined it for me. I love that you said [name]Darcy[/name], that’s my sisters name and I love it, so does she (but probably wouldn’t use it as a first name, I would recommend it though). I love [name]Molly[/name], it’s our dogs name, I think it would be adorable for a little girl! [name]Ella[/name] is a neice’s name, but I think it would go great with [name]Lily[/name]. I like [name]Harper[/name] but I’m not sure it’s girly enough for me. Thanks so much for the suggestions!
I’m glad you liked some of my suggestions, even if they don’t work for you. I do like [name]Nola[/name] (I forgot to mention that in my last post). I think [name]Jackson[/name], [name]Wyatt[/name], [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Nola[/name] go very well and I like how they all have different endings.
[name]Britta[/name]
[name]Nina[/name]
[name]Chloe[/name] (maybe too popular but such a pretty name)
[name]Sadie[/name] - alone or as nn for [name]Sarah[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Nola[/name] - this is my favorite off your list. [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Nola[/name] are lovely together.
[name]Annabel[/name]- Cute, prefer [name]Nola[/name] though.
[name]Amelia[/name]- Very pretty but getting really popular.
[name]Maya[/name]- Prefer [name]Maia[/name]. I like this one with [name]Lily[/name] too.
[name]Scarlett[/name]- Not my favorite with your kids names but still nice.
[name]Hi[/name]! Beautiful choices! I think that [name]Nola[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], and [name]Annabel[/name] go best with your other kids’ names. I agree with pp who said that [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Maya[/name] sort of echo each other, and I also think that [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name] sound a bit too close. [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name] are longer, but I think they have a sort of down-home or country-western sweetness that your kids’ names share. I hope that isn’t too much of a mischaracterization. [name]Nola[/name] has a slightly different feel to me–very sensuous–but it’s also cute and trim, like your other kids’ names.
By the way, do you know [name]Marilynne[/name] [name]Robinson[/name]'s wonderful novel Housekeeping? There are two sisters (the narrator’s aunts) named [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Nona[/name].
[name]Nola[/name] is really pretty and not common. This name really jumped out at me from the names on your list.
[name]Maya[/name] (I grew up with one, never met another) is also lovely. I met a toddler [name]Maya[/name] ([name]Maia[/name]?) in the park the other day. Quite a cute name, and it ages well.
[name]Amelie[/name] (was that your other choice?) is very pretty, but the name starts to creep into the [name]Emily[/name] territory. Is that [name]Amelie[/name]? [name]Emily[/name]? Boo hiss for popularity.
Not a big fan of [name]Scarlett[/name] or [name]Annabel[/name]. But that’s just me.
It has to be [name]Nola[/name] or [name]Maya[/name]! [name]Both[/name] are wonderful - familiar but not too popular, simple, sweet but a bit spunky. They fit well stylistically with [name]Jackson[/name], [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Lily[/name], too. My top vote goes to [name]Nola[/name], as [name]Maya[/name] sounds quite similar to the beginning of [name]Wyatt[/name].
1 syllable last name. My kids also have short middle names
[name]Jackson[/name] [name]John[/name](husbands Dad)
[name]Wyatt[/name] [name]Warren[/name](my Dad) and
[name]Lily[/name] [name]Jay[/name](My husbands name is [name]Jason[/name], so this is for her Daddy)
If we choose [name]Nola[/name] we are thinking of another shorter middle family name
[name]Grace[/name] is very popular and [name]Nola[/name] [name]Lynn[/name] is somewhat hard to say for me, but [name]Nola[/name] [name]Bee[/name] and [name]Nola[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] are both interesting and have great flow. [name]Nola[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] especially has a lovely vintage feel, in my opinion.
