Hey nameberries! [name]Scarlett[/name] is for [name]Scarlett[/name] O’[name]Hara[/name]
[name]Marlena[/name] is for [name]Marlene[/name] [name]Dietrich[/name]
[name]Grace[/name] is for [name]Grace[/name] [name]Kelly[/name]
[name]Vivienne[/name] is for [name]Vivien[/name] Liegh who played [name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name] is for [name]Audrey[/name] Hepburn
[name]Lucille[/name] is for [name]Lucille[/name] Ball
[name]Edda[/name] is [name]Audrey[/name] Hepburn’s aliases because in Europe she had to go by [name]Edda[/name] however I’m not sure if this really fits in? I need help with this one
[name]Marilyn[/name] is for [name]Marilyn[/name] [name]Monroe[/name]
[name]Blair[/name] is for [name]Blair[/name] waldorf
[name]Grant[/name] is for [name]Cary[/name] grant
And gable is for clark gable
I could really use your opinions and advice everyone! Thank you
[name]Love[/name] them! I especially love [name]Grant[/name] as a FN, and [name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Vivienne[/name] work together perfectly. I like the idea of [name]Edda[/name], but I agree–it is a bit out-of-style with the other FNs. I don’t think it’s too bad, though.
what about
[name]Clark[/name] (gable)
[name]Myrna[/name] (loy)
[name]Ramon[/name] (navarro)
[name]Lionel[/name] (barrymore - though he’s not a great name sake)
[name]Wallace[/name] [name]Berry[/name] (same problem with Barrymore though)
[name]Marion[/name] ([name]Davies[/name])
[name]Joan[/name] (Blondell - but that name is sort of dated in a bad way but she’s a beautiful namesake)
[name]Norma[/name] (Shearer)
[name]Constance[/name] ([name]Bennet[/name])
[name]Miriam[/name] (Hopkins)
[name]Jean[/name] [name]Harlow[/name]
[name]Greta[/name] ([name]Garbo[/name])
I think those are great names (especially [name]Lucille[/name] & [name]Scarlett[/name]). Here are some others to consider:
[name]Fred[/name] or Astaire
[name]Greta[/name] ([name]Garbo[/name])
[name]Ingrid[/name] (Bergman)
[name]Claudette[/name] ([name]Colbert[/name])
[name]Rita[/name] (Hayworth)
[name]Shirley[/name] ([name]Temple[/name])
[name]Bette[/name] ([name]Davis[/name])
[name]Love[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Marlena[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Grant[/name] [name]Gable[/name]! What about [name]Lucille[/name] [name]Marilyn[/name] [name]Blaire[/name]? Also love [name]Ingrid[/name] and [name]Greta[/name]!
I love old Hollywood stuff. My favorites are [name]Lana[/name] & [name]Veronica[/name] for [name]Lana[/name] [name]Turner[/name] and [name]Veronica[/name] [name]Lake[/name]…[name]Lake[/name] is actually pretty too!
[name]Scarlett[/name]- Very pretty
[name]Marlena[/name]- I prefer [name]Marlene[/name] or [name]Marla[/name]…or even [name]Marnie[/name] like the [name]Hitchcock[/name] movie with Tippi Hedron
[name]Grace[/name]- Really kind of boring to me. Especially as a mn. It doesn’t conjure images of [name]Grace[/name] [name]Kelly[/name] to me. It’s too common and sounds like ‘grease’. I would prefer [name]Kelly[/name] to honor [name]Grace[/name] [name]Kelly[/name]…it feels more unexpected nowadays. Or [name]Margot[/name] or [name]Lisa[/name] for her [name]Hitchcock[/name] characters.
[name]Vivienne[/name]- I love this, but prefer the more down-to-earth spelling [name]Vivian[/name]
[name]Audrey[/name]- I love [name]Audrey[/name] Hepburn and I love [name]Audrey[/name] Horn (character from Twin Peaks) and [name]Audrey[/name] Tautou (or whatever [name]Amelie[/name]'s name is!), but I don’t love the name [name]Audrey[/name], really, just cause the sound isn’t pretty imo.
[name]Lucille[/name]- I love this name…I love [name]Lucy[/name], I love all names that can be nn [name]Lou[/name]
[name]Edda[/name]- I prefer [name]Etta[/name], but I like this quite a bit as well. I like that it’s a less literal way to reference [name]Audrey[/name] Hepburn.
[name]Marilyn[/name]- I would love to hear this as a fn on a young girl. I’m shocked that I’ve never met a young [name]Marilyn[/name]…maybe I’ll have to have another daughter so I can use it!
[name]Blair[/name]- I don’t really like this one. Very 80’s preppy rich girl to me and not a pretty sound. I think blare…like blaring loud.
[name]Grant[/name] [name]Gable[/name]- I really dislike this pairing. The alliteration and it’s a really literal way to honor old Hollywood. and masculine sounding. [name]Grant[/name] makes me think of [name]Cary[/name], but also of [name]Amy[/name]…And [name]Gable[/name] could make a cute fn for a boy with nn [name]Gabe[/name], but it would remind me of [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables if it wasn’t paired with [name]Grant[/name].
