This is my first time posting here but I have been a fan for over a year and love what this site does.
My hubby and I are having a girl in February. We’ve gone through a lot of names and have finally settled on [name]Olive[/name]. Her name means a lot to us and the symbol of peace means even more as our lives have been up and down and this little girl has really brought peace to our lives right now.
But we need help with middle names. We have three options. “[name]Lou[/name]” is my mother’s name and “[name]Lucretia[/name]” is my mother in law name, so [name]Lou[/name] needs to be involved. So, which one do you like the best?
[name]Olive[/name] pairs nicely with these sounds and I quite like [name]Livy[/name] [name]Lou[/name]!
I like [name]Lucia[/name] best - it’s a nice name, your surname looks Scandinavian and [name]Lucia[/name] is an important saint in several Scandinavian cultures. I also like that it alludes to both your mother’s and [name]MIL[/name]'s name without being the same as either, which is a nice balance.
[name]Lou[/name] would be my second pick, since you’ll call her [name]Livy[/name] [name]Lou[/name] and I think the flow is awesome.
Louelle I don’t care for as much, it feels a bit smooshy (though I know it has meaning given the context) and I don’t love the flow. It would still be OK though.
There are a lot of other great [name]Lou[/name]/[name]Lu[/name] names if you’re still looking, although I really think [name]Lucia[/name] is one of the best.
I love the name [name]Olive[/name] And [name]Livy[/name] [name]Lou[/name] is just too cute. Definitely like [name]Olive[/name] [name]Lucia[/name] from your list. Other ‘[name]Lou[/name]’ ideas: [name]Lucille[/name], Lumen, or [name]Lucy[/name].

I second @mischa’s suggestion of [name]Louisa[/name]. [name]Olive[/name] [name]Lucia[/name] is my favorite, and [name]Livy[/name] [name]Lou[/name] is just precious. :]
Thank you Berries! I actually am 100% Swedish and my husband is half. [name]Lucia[/name] does carry meaning as well. Thank you for making me feel happier about our choice.
Personally, I love just [name]Olive[/name] [name]Lou[/name]. But there was a time when I was trying to decide between [name]Olive[/name] [name]Lucia[/name] and [name]Olive[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] for my short list (before I switched to [name]Olivia[/name] and am considering switching back to [name]Olive[/name]!), so if [name]Olive[/name] [name]Lou[/name] just doesn’t cut it, then [name]Olive[/name] [name]Lucia[/name] gets my vote.
I think [name]Olive[/name] [name]Lucinda[/name] would be lovely, too.
My daughter is [name]Olive[/name] [name]Louise[/name]! I love her name so much. She’s 2 and we call her [name]Ollie[/name] [name]Lou[/name]. [name]Livy[/name] [name]Lou[/name] is adorable. I think [name]Lou[/name] is my favorite, [name]Lucia[/name] is a beautiful close second.
I’m just stuck on [name]Olive[/name] [name]Lou[/name] and how incredibly adorable it is. [name]Lucia[/name] is a great Swedish heritage choice, though.

I think Louelle flows the best with [name]Olive[/name]. If you’re open to changing it to [name]Olivia[/name], I would say [name]Lou[/name] flows the best.
I like [name]Olive[/name] Louelle or [name]Olive[/name] [name]Lucia[/name], partially because of the flow, but more importantly, you said that your mother’s name is [name]Lou[/name] and your mother-in-law is [name]Lucretia[/name]. To go with [name]Olive[/name] [name]Lou[/name] would only REALLY be honoring your mother; no matter what you tell your mother-in-law, I’m afraid she wouldn’t believe that [name]Olive[/name] [name]Lou[/name] is honestly honoring her as well. Louelle and [name]Lucia[/name] seem to be a nice compromise to honor both without favoring one over the other.
I love the name [name]Olive[/name]! However, when I first saw the name [name]Olive[/name] [name]Lou[/name], I immediately thought, “Are they trying to do a play on ‘I [name]Love[/name] You’?” I think [name]Olive[/name] [name]Lucia[/name] would be great, and then you could still call her [name]Livy[/name] [name]Lou[/name]
And [name]Livy[/name] [name]Lou[/name] is just too cute. Definitely like [name]Olive[/name] [name]Lucia[/name] from your list. Other ‘[name]Lou[/name]’ ideas: [name]Lucille[/name], Lumen, or [name]Lucy[/name].
