We love the name [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] for our son but already have an [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]–is it too matchy-matchy?
I find it too matchy for my particular style but it’s not like they rhyme…
I know a sibset of [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] so I guess [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] & [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] would be fine. If you had a third child would you feel the need to go with another ‘O’ name or would you not be bothered?
It’s too matchy for my personal taste, but I think it is usable still. Only problem is if you have a third child, what would you name him/her?
I have this sibset in m family history. It’s ok I’d opt for [name_m]Olivier[/name_m] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m]. [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] makes me think of liver. Third child…[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] or Oysseus.
I don’t think it’s too matchy, as long as your last name doesn’t also start with O!
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] are lovely choices. They’re both quite popular though, so personally I’d try and do something fun with their mns or nns perhaps.
Thank you for the input, greatly appreciated. I guess I should have added we have three children; [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] Amore, [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] Darling, and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_u]Onyx[/name_u]. They will be getting brother this [name_u]November[/name_u]! Another name we like is [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] but in all honestly I just can’t “love” any name at the moment.
I think it’s ok. They are such distinct names, I don’t see a problem. Now, [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] and [name_m]Ozzie[/name_m]/[name_m]Ozzy[/name_m] would be too much.
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] sound lovely together. However, if you call [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] ‘[name_u]Ollie[/name_u]’ and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] ‘[name_m]Ozzie[/name_m]’ that would be too much, and even if you try and prevent it other people may call him [name_m]Ozzie[/name_m].
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] is a favourite of mine but it almost seems a little too out there to go with your other children’s names.
