Oliver or Francis

Our little guy is due in [name_f]February[/name_f]. He will be brother to our two year old, [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f]. We have a three syllable, [name_m]French[/name_m] Canadian last name that begins with L. My husband’s family has a tradition of first son having mom’s maiden name as his middle name. My maiden name is Robideau (also a three syllable, [name_m]French[/name_m] Canadian name!) I love the tradition and want to stick with it since there are no babies who sport Robideau as their last name on my dad’s side so no one is carrying it on to the next generation. [name_u]Francis[/name_u] is a family name. [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is just a name we both like.

Here are our name ideas narrowed down after lots of indecision. I’d love to hear some feedback to help us choose the best name for our son.

#1 [name_u]Francis[/name_u] Robideau L_____
#2 [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_u]Francis[/name_u] L_____

[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] Robideau L_____ seems like too much name to me. And three, three syllable names seems awkward …

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] has four syllables so I think either boys name works. However [name_m]Franc[/name_m] could be another consideration, providing you like the name.lol. I think [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] Robideau Etc…is lovely.
