Oliver Thomas or Thomas Oliver?

I like the flow of [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] better, but the issue is that we can’t decide if we’d rather call the kid [name]Thomas[/name] or [name]Oliver[/name]. And I’d rather call our son by his actual first name instead of his middle name, so would be willing to do either combo of those two names. So that being said…which do you like better as a first name?..[name]Thomas[/name] or [name]Oliver[/name] (with the other one definitely being the middle name).

FWIW, [name]Thomas[/name] is my maiden name and [name]Oliver[/name] is a name we really like. We love both names and would like either as a first name. However, I am worried about the rising popularity of [name]Oliver[/name]…although I do not know any [name]Oliver[/name]'s real life, but it appears popular on message boards.

I prefer [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] and think you should go with what you love! Also check your state popularity, I find that more true than the national list since so many name are regional.

I think they both sound fine…but I personally prefer [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name].

I prefer [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name].

Also, I like the mother’s maiden name as the middle name. To me, middle names should be something more than just a fancy. They should be meaningful whereas a first name is a name the parents like.

I much prefer the flow of [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]. What your last name is matters though. TO? The initials might spell something.

I rather the first name [name]Thomas[/name] over [name]Oliver[/name].

I prefer [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] because I think that flows better. I also just generally prefer [name]Oliver[/name] over [name]Thomas[/name] as a first name. [name]Ollie[/name] is a cute nickname. you should check state popularity to know how popular something really is, or listen around the playground and whatnot. I’ve never met an [name]Oliver[/name] in real life, but I’ve met TONS of [name]Thomas[/name]'s.

I prefer [name]Oliver[/name] as a first name. I also like the flow of [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] better!

I like the flow of [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] best, however I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the young Ollies I know. I think [name]Oliver[/name] is more popular, and [name]Thomas[/name] more classic. I think you should just go with which first name you prefer. I personally would probably prefer a [name]Thomas[/name]/[name]Tom[/name] to an [name]Oliver[/name] because it’s less common these days - and also because I have a childhood soft spot for [name]Tom[/name] [name]Sawyer[/name], but either is great.

While I love [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] as a combo, I really prefer [name]Oliver[/name] as the name he’d be called by. I think [name]Oliver[/name] is just so cute and charming. [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] is really handsome, I love it.

Good luck!

I vote for [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]. [name]Lovely[/name]! Either way, they are very nice names.
Good luck!

Last name is 3 syllables beginning with M…so the initials would actually be T.O.M. if we used that combo. So that could be neat to some or a put-off to others. It’s not intentional and it wouldn’t really bother me.

I would DEFINITELY go with [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]. [name]Thomas[/name] is a somewhat neglected classic (at least here in the U.S.), and [name]Tom[/name] is such a strong, friendly nickname. I find [name]Oliver[/name] trendy and a bit fussy by comparison. Flow of [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] is also better.

[name]Both[/name] are lovely, prefer [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name].

For me it would be [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]. I think [name]Tom[/name] is great manly name and although [name]Oliver[/name] is a classic I don’t get any positive vibes from having a child named [name]Ollie[/name].

Definitely [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]!

I have a soft spot for [name]Thomas[/name]/[name]Tommy[/name], so I vote for [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Oliver[/name].

As the proud mother of a [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Caleb[/name], I say go with [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]. It’s a great name, solid and appealing, and there are so many variations to [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Oliver[/name]. My favourite is Tolly, which was the name of the boy in the Children of [name]Green[/name] Knowe series by [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Boston[/name]…A

Go with whichever name you prefer and don’t worry about the flow. [name]Both[/name] sound good and how many times are you going to say his first and middle name? Also if you are going to have more children you may want to save one of the names for your next boy.

[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]…fabulous!
