Olivet/Olivette/Olivetta

What do you think of these names?

Hmm… I prefer [name]Olivette[/name] over [name]Olivet[/name] I think. [name]Even[/name] though I’m usually one to go for more streamlined, less frilly names, I think [name]Olivet[/name] looks worryingly masculine. [name]Olivette[/name] is lovely though.

[name]Olivetta[/name] is gorgeous! It’s beautifully exotic, and just plain wonderful. The nns [name]Olive[/name] and [name]Etta[/name] are very pretty. I’d love to be an [name]Olivetta[/name].

Thanks oliviasarah!

Sounds like from your screenname you can maybe start trying to pull [name]Olivetta[/name] off as a nickname : D? Would you have preferred [name]Olivetta[/name] to [name]Olivia[/name] (if that is your name)? O

[name]Olivia[/name] is so beautiful : D. But I understand - I think I would have rather been a [name]Jessamine[/name] than a [name]Jessica[/name], although I like [name]Jessica[/name] more than many with my name!

I do see what you mean about [name]Olivet[/name] - it looks a lot like [name]Oliver[/name]. But to me it looks no more like [name]Oliver[/name] than [name]Olive[/name] (which I’ve never been able to like strongly - I wish I could!). I do think prn might be clearer with [name]Olivette[/name] (unless I wanted a different prn with [name]Olivet[/name] - I don’t think I would).

[name]Olivet[/name] has a lot of religious meaning for me (although kind of a mixed one - mostly positive). But actually they all do, the other two more subtly. And they all have a family connection without being an already-used family name - these are all huge plusses to me.

Yeah, [name]Olivetta[/name] does have a lot of oomph : D. I’m still making up my mind about these (in a very abstract way - kids are no time soon, probably). It’s relatively rare for me to come across new names these days! But I’m leaning strongly towards like, although maybe more in the middle since I’m not that bold!

Any other thoughts welcome : D.

Unfortunately my first thought was ‘Olivetti’, which is a make of typewriter.

Which is a shame, because really Olivetti is too pretty to be wasted on typewriters.

Yep, I’m an [name]Olivia[/name]. I suppose I’m quite ahead of my time though, and I do like my name, I just wish it wasn’t so popular. Apparently I could also have been an [name]Ophelia[/name] or [name]Octavia[/name] (my parents have a thing for O names, I think  ) which I would have loved. It’s a shame.

my idea is olivette is cute name for baby Girl but if we go for meaning of this name having masculine sound.
