Olivet?

What are everyone’s thoughts on the name [name]Olivet[/name]? This name has been on my mind a lot lately, I’m just not sure if it’s totally usable or not? Also, just to see if there is any issues with this, how to you pronounce it? I just want to make sure that’s not a huge issue! Thanks!

I think it’s usable, it’s a name - it’s just not as common as [name]Olive[/name]/[name]Olivia[/name]/[name]Oliver[/name] so it looks a bit unfinished [name]IMO[/name].

I pronounce it like [name]Olive[/name] with -t. And how do you expect people to pronounce it?
I kinda like [name]Olivet[/name]…I don’t really know. I like [name]Olivia[/name] and [name]Olive[/name] but [name]Olivet[/name] is a bit different. Looks like someone a bit snobby from [name]France[/name]. I don’t like the fact it’s one letter shy from [name]Oliver[/name], which is a boy name. That may be confusing… Also, what about Oliviana? It’s a lovely version of [name]Olivia[/name], also French but seems more feminine and attractive to me.

its pronounced [name]Olive[/name]-ETTE

Its definately an unusual Bible name. perfectly wearable on a little girl today. Its elegant and substantial.

I think it’s gorgeous and I really love it.
The only thing that holds me back is that it sounds like ‘all of it’, which I find kinda weird.

My step great granddad is buried in Mt [name]Olivet[/name] cemetery in [name]Halifax[/name] so I’ve heard of it before. I prefer it to [name]Olivia[/name]

I don’t think you’d have a hard time with the proununciation, it’s spelled quite phonetically.

I’m not a fan. But I tend feel very cold toward almost all names which sound similar to [name]Olivia[/name] without being [name]Olivia[/name] itself… probably because it’s my own name; whenever I hear [name]Olive[/name]/[name]Livia[/name]/[name]Olivianne[/name] I just want to be like ‘For goodness sake just use [name]Olivia[/name] already!’. Ridiculous, I know.

On the whole I don’t love -et/-ette names either. And [name]Olivet[/name] just looks like a brand of [name]Olive[/name] Oil or a new [name]Ford[/name] model or something.

I want to like it, but it just looks like a typo to me.

It’s usable but not my taste. I think [name]Olivet[/name] sounds like an appetizer.

I have never seen this before. My first thought was wow, someone spelled [name]Violet[/name] really wrong. On second thought, though, it’s quite pretty an unique.

I do hear “all of it”. I don’t like it very much. [name]Olivet[/name] sounds like a cutesy diminuitive of [name]Olivia[/name] so it seems more like a nickname than a formal name to me. Comparison: A baby back rib is called a riblet.

[name]Olivette[/name] is more my cup of tea honestly. As an [name]Olivia[/name] myself, any variation seems almost strange, though.

I prefer it spelt [name]Olivette[/name] as it makes the name look a bit more ‘finished’. It’s okay but it just makes me think of olives, and I’m not a fan of olives so it’s not a great name for me! I do like Oliviana though, very pretty.

I thinks it’s much better then [name]Olivia[/name] and [name]Olive[/name]. It sounds so graceful and I really love all names ending in -ette for girls. However, I’m not a huge fan of [name]Olive[/name], which is the only potential nn I can see, but I think [name]Olivet[/name] is quite nice.

I would go with [name]Olivette[/name]

Same here.

I love uncommon biblical names. [name]Olivet[/name] is a lovely name, far better than [name]Olivia[/name] or [name]Olive[/name]

I wonder when Nameberry added it. When I first started it wasn’t listed. They could put more effort into the description

I agree that it looks like a typo to me. [name]Olivette[/name] doesn’t look any better.

It reminds me of both a town not too far from me and a college, [name]Olivet[/name] and [name]Olivet[/name] College.

I’m not a fan, I love plain old [name]Olive[/name]. I pronounce it olive-ette.
