I am in love with [name]Olivier[/name]. I usually am not a big fan of male French names, but I find this one absolutely perfect. I was wondering what other people thought about it. [name]Love[/name] it? Hate it? Not sure? I’d love to hear some opinions!!
(I’m not pregnant or anything…I’m a curious teen who loves names :).)
I love [name]Olivier[/name]! It makes me think of [name]Laurence[/name] [name]Olivier[/name], and I love him.
My only issue with the name is that more often than not, it’s going to be mistaken for [name]Oliver[/name], in the same way that [name]Kirsten[/name] often gets mistaken for [name]Kristen[/name]/[name]Kristin[/name].
I also love this name!
I love this name! I just watched [name]Rebecca[/name] with [name]Laurence[/name] [name]Olivier[/name] so it has a particularly dashing sound to it.
While it might be mistaken for [name]Oliver[/name], the same thing might happen to an [name]Olive[/name] mistaken for [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Amelie[/name] mistaken for [name]Amilia[/name] or [name]Bennett[/name] for [name]Benjamin[/name].
I think it is nice and if you like it then I say go for it!
I understand how it might be confused be [name]Oliver[/name], but that doesn’t bother me very much :).
I think it would be confused more in spoken form for [name]Olivia[/name], especially if you’re in a part of the world which doesn’t pronounce the -rs at the end. The French way of saying it is Uh-liv-ee-ay, which isn’t that far off Uh-liv-ee-ah for someone with sloppy speech. [name]Even[/name] the anglicised form of Uh-liv-ee-air isn’t far off of it either. Written down, there won’t be much problem, just people misreading it as [name]Oliver[/name], but spoken he might get called by a girls’ name. [name]Just[/name] something you might want to bear in mind.
[name]Olivier[/name] is charming, dashing and a great twist on the very popular [name]Oliver[/name]! I love the name, especially since I have a bit of French, amongst others, mixed in my heritage! A lovely name!
[name]Bree[/name]
[name]Olivier[/name] is one of my favourite French boys names. It’s sophisticated, romantic, elegant and debonair. Sir [name]Laurence[/name] [name]Olivier[/name] is quite a lovely association too so that’s a bonus!
I like it a lot! It is a nice alternative to [name]Oliver[/name], another name that I adore.
