"On The Road Again" Type Names.......

I need some name ideas…boys and girls for a “on the road” or travel theme. I’m in the very early stages of development on a character who will be a truck driver. I’m not sure if they will be male or female yet, but of course they are away from home a lot, and they eat at truck stops, and they talk on radios, and they haul things around. They see some great scenery, but there is dangers with driving at night, in bad weather. They are sleep deprived.

Surnames with a trucker sort of feeling to them or travel theme would be good too.

Thanks

I’ll start with the obvious one…

[name]Cruz[/name]

Well, location names might be a tad on the obvious side:

[name]Abilene[/name]
[name]Rochelle[/name]
[name]Charleston[/name]
[name]Macon[/name]
[name]Montgomery[/name]
[name]Phoenix[/name]
[name]Bristol[/name]
[name]Raleigh[/name]
[name]Camden[/name]

Other ideas:
[name]Crew[/name]
[name]Rhodes[/name]/Roads
[name]Land[/name], [name]Landry[/name]
[name]Trip[/name]
[name]Nestor[/name] - meaning “traveler, voyager”
[name]Peregrine[/name] - meaning “traveler, pilgrim”
[name]Wendell[/name] - meaning “to travel”
[name]Tracy[/name] - perhaps for [name]Tracy[/name] Chapman and “Fast Car”
[name]Waylon[/name] - “land beside the road”
[name]Wilder[/name]
[name]Bridger[/name]
[name]Lane[/name] (b or g)
[name]Mason[/name]
[name]Dixon[/name]
[name]Chase[/name], [name]Chasen[/name]
[name]Weston[/name], [name]Easton[/name], [name]North[/name]

These are great. I think I’m leaning towards [name]Katherine[/name] (nn. [name]Kate[/name]) as a first name. [name]Even[/name] tough they grew up in a small town, her mother was sort of stuffy an made herself to be more higher class then she really was. She made [name]Kate[/name] wear dresses, but [name]Kate[/name] was a tomboy and wanted to do everything her mother didn’t want her to do. [name]Kate[/name] is stunning in her looks but thinks she is plain old [name]Kate[/name].
[name]Kate[/name]'s favorite song is Driving My life Away by [name]Eddie[/name] Rabbitt. I’ve actually listened to the song several times today seeing if it triggers a last name.

I sort of like the surname Rowland.

These like of sound like the “type”

[name]Sheridan[/name]…doesn’t have a road feeling, but I like it
[name]Gordon[/name]
[name]Carter[/name]
[name]Carson[/name]
Trodden…sort of sounds like your trotting off somewhere
Hastings…a favorite
Rooker…has a “speed” sound and feeling to it
Darlington…feels roadie to me

Hmm… [name]Journey[/name]? [name]Just[/name] kidding :stuck_out_tongue:

[name]Katherine[/name] nn [name]Kate[/name] is great! (Hey…that rhymes :))
