Okay, sorry I’ve already posted a thread about this, but I’m really trying to narrow it down. (not that there’s a real baby in question here, but just to have a set [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] combo).
I decided I want something starry for the first middle, though I’m not set on it.
The finalists for sparkly [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] are:
[name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] - I love how simple yet underused [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] is, with a touch of fantasy (His Dark Materials) and a lovely association with the constellation.
[name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] [name_f]Estee[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] - [name_f]Estee[/name_f] is a variation of [name_f]Esther[/name_f], so it means star. I know most think of [name_f]Estee[/name_f] Lauder, but I wouldn’t call that bad, and [name_f]Estee[/name_f] sounds so [name_m]French[/name_m] and magical to me.
[name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] [name_u]Vega[/name_u] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] - I love that [name_u]Vega[/name_u] is the main star in the constellation [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], but sadly I feel this combo doesn’t flow…splendidly.
[name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] Hesper [name_f]Kate[/name_f] - Once again, Hesper means evening star, making it ideal. I think it flows well, and isn’t too long or anything.
[name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] - [name_f]Nova[/name_f] is obviously star-related, from supernovas, but would you say it’s trendy? It has felt kind of trendy lately. Also, [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] kind of sounds to me like Novocain when said quickly.
Any opinions are greatly welcomed. Thanks in advance!
Definitely [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] Hesper [name_f]Kate[/name_f], although I think [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] Hespera [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is slightly nicer
and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and like many of your middle names, but somehow something something [name_f]Kate[/name_f], like [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] ends up sounding like “educate” or “lyracate” or “vegetate” — like a process rather than two separate names.
[name_u]Haley[/name_u]: Thanks darling! You’re a gem. I do like Hespera as well.
[name_u]Leslie[/name_u]: I actually thought the same thing at one point, haha. That’s why I got rid of [name_f]Luna[/name_f] as a possibility, because it sounded like saying lunicate or something. I don’t think it’s as bad with [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] though.
Can’t go wrong here [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] is uncommon and beautiful. My favourite star names are [name_f]Tara[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f], and [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]. [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] would avoid the problem and it flows just as nicely [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. I don’t like Hesper, but [name_f]Nova[/name_f] and Estée are both beautiful. Good luck!
I don’t feel that the name [name_f]Kate[/name_f] fits with a name like [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f]. Of your middle names, I like [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] best, but when I see [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] next to each other, I see a bit too much similarity between them - in the shared ‘r’ and ‘y’. This might not bother others, but I personally like it when names don’t share too many characteristics. Then again, I’m the sort of person who would combine names ending in ‘a’ - others might find that crazy!
Saracita: Hm, I hadn’t considered moving [name_f]Kate[/name_f], but it does work well. Especially with [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] [name_f]Nova[/name_f]! I have come across most of your starry suggestions, but unfortunately some of them I just don’t think flow well. Thanks so much for the help! Oh, and I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] the name you have picked out for your daughter. It is perfection.
[name_f]Janna[/name_f]: Thanks, [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] sounds marvelous. I hadn’t thought of that!
Sorceress: Thanks!
Karateleshi: I see where you’re coming from, but I don’t think [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is as bad as some other names. ([name_f]Marie[/name_f], I’m looking at you). Thanks for suggestion!
Banomi: I see your point, but it doesn’t bother me too much. Haha, now that you point it out, the word lyra is actually present backwards in [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f]. That’s funny. Thanks for the help!
