So thinking of committing to [name_f]Iris[/name_f] (thanks for all the help ). BUT just want to make sure that [name_f]Iris[/name_f] will not be mistaken for/people don’t think [name_f]Isis[/name_f] (for obvious reasons -not because [name_f]Isis[/name_f] can also be a name) - I know I am likely being paranoid, but just wanna be sure.
I don’t think so. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is pretty definitive if you ask me. I seriously doubt children will know what [name_f]ISIS[/name_f] is (if you’re worried about playground teasing), and who knows if [name_f]ISIS[/name_f] will even be a big deal anymore once she’s older. I think you’re pretty well in the clear with [name_f]Iris[/name_f].
I think you’ll be fine. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is well known as a flower and a name, and the letters ‘r’ and ‘s’ look completely different, so there shouldn’t be any mixup.
Congrats-- [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is gorgeous! I think it will be fine, too. Most people will think first of flowers and colors, not [name_f]ISIS[/name_f].
It’s a shame that such a lovely name ([name_f]Isis[/name_f]) has been ruined in this way. However, it is quite different from [name_f]Iris[/name_f], even though it’s just one letter off. You are definitely fine, [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is beautiful.
I do not think [name_f]Iris[/name_f] would be confused with [name_f]Isis[/name_f]. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is a well known name and the word iris is a well known flower and a well known part of the eye.
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] is lovely. I wouldn’t have thought about [name_f]Isis[/name_f], if you hadn’t mentioned it. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] is one of my favourite flower names. It’s a wonderful choice.
