My list of favourite names includes some which are fairly similar and I just wanted opinions on which people prefer and why.
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] or [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_f]Isolde[/name_f] or [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f] - Not too similar but still would put use both.
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] or [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f] or [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] - I absolutely adore these two names and twins run in my family so I’d be tempted to use these if I ever had twins, but the shared ‘ria’ sound makes me feel like they’re to close. I like nicknames [name_u]Rio[/name_u] or [name_f]Annie[/name_f] for [name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f] and [name_f]Aria[/name_f] or [name_u]Ari[/name_u] for [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f]. Would I be a horrible person by giving overly cute matchy names to siblings?
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] or [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] - Same thing as before with the similar sounds and [name_f]Evie[/name_f] / [name_f]Eve[/name_f] / [name_f]Eva[/name_f] as a shared nn.
of those I prefer [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] because of the spelling of them,i don’t like [name_f]Isolde[/name_f], [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f], [name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f] don’t have a reason they just to pop out for me, [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] is petty, i love [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] it a strong classic name that seems be timeless to me.
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] or [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]: out of it I prefer [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], but [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] was [name_f]Heloise[/name_f] i would have vote for that.
[name_f]Isolde[/name_f] or [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f]: I loveee both. If i had to choose, then [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] is my pick.
[name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f] or [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f]: I prefer [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f], though i think they whould make a cute sibset.
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] or [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]: [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] - it seems a lot more feminine to me than [name_u]Eloise[/name_u].
[name_f]Ianthe[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f], and this is very similar!
[name_f]Sofia[/name_f] - I prefer this because you can use [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] as the nn.
[name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f] - I’ve never really liked the pronunciation op [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f].
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] - nns [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Vangie[/name_f] are so cute!
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] (though too popular for me)
[name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f] or [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] - I like them both, but prefer [name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f]. I do think they are a bit too close for siblings. It would be confusing.
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] or [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]- [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], it feels more classic, feminine and elegant to me.
[name_f]Isolde[/name_f] or [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f]- [name_f]Isolde[/name_f], I love its mythical, fantasy-like vibe.
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] or [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]- [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], it feels down-to-earth and gentle
[name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f] or [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f]- if I had to choose one, [name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f], because [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] feels a bit harsh to me, but I don’t think they’re too close for siblings
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] or [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]- [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], it feels magical and princessy without being too froufrou
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] or [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]: I prefer [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], and they are too similar to use together.
[name_f]Isolde[/name_f] or [name_f]Ianthe[/name_f]: I prefer [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] only slightly, but I think they are dissimilar enough to use together.
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] or [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]: Obviously can’t use them together. I prefer [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] - I’m not [name_m]French[/name_m], so [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] always just sounds like a nickname to me, and really you could still get [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] out of [name_f]Sofia[/name_f].
[name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f] or [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f]: I actually think these would be PERFECT for twins. They share a sound, but they have different initials, different number of syllables, and come from different languages. PERFECT.
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] or [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]: Similar to above - I think these would be okay for twins, but they definitely share a lot of sounds so keep that in mind regarding other siblings. Might be difficult to put together if you want the names to flow. Otherwise, I prefer [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f].
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] - though I love [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] as well
[name_f]Ianthe[/name_f] - I don’t like [name_f]Isolde[/name_f] at all, but I don’t really know why
[name_f]Sofia[/name_f] - it sounds softer
[name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] - [name_f]Rhiannon[/name_f] sounds very harsh. I don’t think they’re too similar to use for twins or even just sisters.
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - I’ve never understood the appeal of [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]. But again, not too similar to use together.
