What do you think about [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m]? We want to go with [name_m]Luke[/name_m] (not [name_m]Lucas[/name_m]), and we have not settled on a middle name. I am partial to [name_m]Jack[/name_m] because it is my late Grandfather’s name, but I am worried about the flow. What do you think? Does it sound okay? Other middle name suggestions for [name_m]Luke[/name_m]?
Agree with this, when both names end in the same sound, it’s definitely a no-go. Two monosyllabic names after another can work, but it’s very hard to do. [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] like someone mentioned is better, [name_m]John[/name_m] also works.
Have you considered [name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m]?
[name_m]Jackson[/name_m] is also a nice alternative.
I agree with the two pps I’m afraid. Two short names can certainly work in the right combo, but [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is just a little too choppy for me. As @tfzolghadr said, it’s the repeated hard -k ending - it makes it sound too disjointed to me.
I like the suggestion of [name_u]Luca[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m]/[name_m]Luka[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m], but if that doesn’t grab you, would you consider doing two middles? Something like [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Jack[/name_m]…?
I am not a fan. Not to say that two 1-syllable names cannot work in succession, but the flow of [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is off. [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m], as others have mentioned, would still honor your grandfather.
Definitely not a fan. I don’t mind the one-syllable first and middle, but I don’t like the ‘k’ sound at the end of both names. You could choose something similar to [name_m]Jack[/name_m], though, if you still want [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and not [name_m]Lucas[/name_m].
Normally, [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] wouldn’t be something that I would chose. However, I think honor names trump flow. If you decide not to go with [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m], I like all the other suggestions that others have mentioned to honor your grandfather. Other options include:
I have to agree with the [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] suggestion, it’s not so much that they’re both one syllable but that they end in the same sound
