One week left!

I could really use some advice on these potential names for our baby girl. Last name is Baltonne. Middle name will probably be [name]Boyd[/name] (a family name), except if we pick a one-syllable first name. Thanks for your thoughts!

[name]Georgia[/name] nn [name]Gigi[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name] nn [name]Jo[/name]

My dad’s middle name is [name]Boyd[/name]! My mom says it is one of her biggest regrets that she didn’t give me that middle name (my twin sister has a family name as HER middle name), but I’m very glad she didn’t - it sounds terrible with my name!

[name]How[/name] do you pronounce Baltonne? Is it ‘Ball-Tone’ or ‘Bal-toe-ney’?

Anyway, on to your names:

[name]Zoe[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like with the last name.
[name]Mia[/name] - Great with last name, but think [name]Amelia[/name] nn [name]Mia[/name] is cute!
[name]Georgia[/name] nn [name]Gigi[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t care for [name]Georgia[/name], love [name]Georgiana[/name].
[name]Josephine[/name] nn [name]Jo[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t like with last name.
[name]Jane[/name] - Simple and sweet, but more as a middle name…
[name]Alice[/name] - Cute! But, [name]Alice[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Bartonne isn’t so cute.
[name]Brooke[/name] - A little trendier than your other choices…
[name]Romy[/name] - Looks like a name from the 80s. [name]Don[/name]'t like much.
[name]Jade[/name] - Prefer [name]Jane[/name]…
[name]Margaux[/name] - Like the [name]Margot[/name] spelling better, but don’t find very pretty…

My favorites from your list are [name]Mia[/name] ([name]Amelia[/name]), [name]Alice[/name], and [name]Georgiana[/name]. [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Baltonne is really stunning, with the nickname [name]Mia[/name] for a little spunk and cuteness!

Others are [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Baltonne, [name]Arabella[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Baltonne, [name]Ginevra[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Baltonne, [name]Lydia[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Baltonne…like any? Names ending in A are really the best for you in my opinion!

Best of luck in choosing your daughter’s name!

Some really good ideas there, thanks! Btw our last name is pronounced “Ball-tunn” . . .

Oh, thanks for the clarification! And, just so you know, I wasn’t saying I didn’t like [name]Boyd[/name] as your daughter’s middle name at all! But, it [name]Lauren[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] [name]Miller[/name] sounds terrible! [name]Hence[/name] why I think a name ending in -a would be best…

Some others:

[name]Ciara[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Baltonne
[name]Keira[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Baltonne
[name]Finola[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Baltonne
[name]Sorcha[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Baltonne

Still [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Boyd[/name], though! Good luck!

[name]Zoe[/name]: [name]Zoe[/name] is starting to feel trendy to me because of [name]Chloe[/name]'s mass popularity, and I wonder if [name]Zoe[/name] will be far behind. I think a longer middle name would create a softer flow…

[name]Mia[/name]: I think [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Balltone (nickname [name]Mia[/name]) has a better flow [name]Mia[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Balltone. I think that [name]Boyd[/name] is great with a longer first name, though. [name]Mia[/name] is #14 in popularity, which may or may not bother you. (I thought I’d mention it just in case.)

[name]Georgia[/name] nn [name]Gigi[/name]: I love [name]Georgia[/name], but think a longer middle would great a softer flow. What about [name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Balltone?

[name]Josephine[/name] nn [name]Jo[/name]: I love [name]Josephine[/name], and think that [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Balltone has a great flow. ([name]Jo[/name] and Balltone both have the same long O sound, though…I think that [name]Josie[/name] sounds softer with Balltone.)

[name]Jane[/name]: I love the name [name]Jane[/name], but think that [name]Jane[/name] Balltone sounds a bit blunt.

[name]Alice[/name]: I really like this name…

[name]Brooke[/name]: [name]Brooke[/name] feels trendy to me, so I like some of your other names more.

[name]Romy[/name]: I think that [name]Romilly[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Balltone has a better flow than [name]Romy[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Balltone.

[name]Jade[/name]: The other day, a poster shared that [name]Jade[/name] has an unflattering meaning in the dictionary and thesaurus. :frowning:

[name]Margaux[/name]: Because it shares the same long O sound in Balltone, I like some of your other choices better.

My favorite from your list is [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Balltone.

[name]Vivienne[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Balltone (nn [name]Vivi[/name]…a bit N heavy, though)
[name]Veronica[/name] [name]Boyd[/name] Balltone (nn [name]Vera[/name])

Good luck!

I think [name]Georgia[/name] is lovely. I also like [name]Mia[/name] and [name]Jade[/name]. Go with your fav first name, even if it doesn’t exactly flow with the other names, how often do we even have to say our whole name out loud? It’s nice if it goes, but I wouldn’t give up a fav first name because it didn’t go with the middle one perfectly.
