One week out: is Shepherd a good name for Charlie's brother?

We’re one week away from welcoming our newest son and I’m just not 100% on anything. We’re considering [name]Shepherd[/name], but does that go with a brother named [name]Charlie[/name]? Please be honest and leave your opinion, or even just first impression. That would be really helpful! His sister’s name is [name]Carys[/name]. Thanks!

Yes! [name]Shepherd[/name] and [name]Charlie[/name] are really good together!

My first thought was LOST ([name]Charlie[/name] [name]Pace[/name] and [name]Jack[/name] [name]Shepherd[/name] were primary characters).

nn [name]Shep[/name]?

I also immediately made the Lost connection upon hearing these names together.

I don’t think it’s horrible, and I didn’t make any LOST connections (I never watched that show) but I did immediately think they sound like a first and last name instead of brothers. I hear [name]Charlie[/name] [name]Shepard[/name] instead of [name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Shepard[/name].

Of course, thats just me! I do really like [name]Shepard[/name], and they are not bad together at all, so if you feel it’s the one, I would go for it.

[name]Shepherd[/name] reminds me of a mild and gentle medium sized long haired dog. I agree with amandachristine that it is okay and if you love it use it I think it would work better in the middle name spot.

[name]Charles[/name] and [name]Curtis[/name] work better for me but [name]Shepherd[/name] doesn’t work with [name]Curtis[/name] I like [name]Curtis[/name] [name]Alexander[/name].

More names that work with [name]Charles[/name]

[name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Fraser[/name] and [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Anderson[/name] and [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Douglas[/name] and [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Laurence[/name] and [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Quentin[/name] and [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Stuart[/name] and [name]Charles[/name]
[name]Eliott[/name] and [name]Charles[/name]

rollo

I like [name]Shepherd[/name] and [name]Charlie[/name] together, especially with [name]Carys[/name] as a sister, which is a little less classic American than [name]Charlie[/name]. I say go for it!

I realize you may already have had your baby, but for the record I love [name]Shepherd[/name]. We just had our 2nd boy 10 weeks ago, and I really liked this name but my husband rejected it. When I mentioned it to people they thought it sounded like a dog, but I disagree and think it’s a really great name. I hope you go for it.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. It’s really helpful. I hadn’t thought about the Lost connection, although I had thought of the sheepdog. I think we’re going to go with it. Thanks again!
