Longtime forum browser, first time poster here…due in a week with our FIRST baby and just can’t seem to make a decision on name!! I’ve always been bad at making decisions and this one is gonna stick with my little guy for the rest of his life so I’m freaking out a bit! Husband and I have narrowed it down to a few–super honest opinions on these would be greatly appreciated! Our last name starts with B and is two syllables.

Ruslan [name_u]Jude[/name_u] is the most unusual. And it doesn’t flow well.
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_u]Seth[/name_u] also doesn’t flow well.
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] sounds great and it flows well.
Based on the overall name, I vote [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] B. It sounds really handsome and cute. It flows better than the others. Congratulations by the way! -[name_u]Raven[/name_u]
They are all strong names, however [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] is my favorite from your list by far! Not sure if [name_m]Leo[/name_m] flows well with it though. But if I’m allowed to mix and match, I adore [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]!
I love [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u], [name_m]Ronan[/name_m] [name_u]Seth[/name_u], and [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_m]Leo[/name_m]! Esp. the first two.

Mixing and matching is great too! I do like [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] as well, I just really have a thing for the short middle names
My husband and I are both [name_m]Leos[/name_m] and baby will be too so that’s one of the reasons we liked that one! [name_m]Just[/name_m] kind of cute that we all match. Also Ruslan is not on nameberry but it is close to the Russian word for “lion” so that kind of goes with the theme too. We really want a strong, unique name so happy to hear that’s the vibe you guys are getting from these!

I don’t mean to be harsh, just trying to be honest. I actually love many of these names, it’s just the flow that doesn’t feel right.
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_m]Leo[/name_m] --I love [name_m]Leo[/name_m]–and even more so for the “leo” backstory you provided: Would you consider [name_m]Leo[/name_m] as a first name? [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] is undoubtedly a cool name, but I tend to be a little conservative when it comes to names with negative “stories” attached to them (like being forced to bear the whole burden of the world on your shoulders)–this is entirely a personal hang-up–it’s what keeps me from falling in love with the gorgeous name [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], for example. And I know you could also think of maps and mountains for [name_m]Atlas[/name_m], which are obviously positive, or just not be as weirdly literal about names as I am!
Ruslan [name_u]Jude[/name_u] --I’m not sure I’m saying Ruslan correctly but I’m not loving the sound of it as I imagine it… Again I love your middle name choice here, and would love [name_u]Jude[/name_u] Ruslan as a combo (with the “lion” meaningful middle name)

Ruslan [name_u]Jude[/name_u] - this is my least favorite on your list, it looks strong on paper but when I say it, it sounds like “rust land”

My close second would be [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]. This has an amazing flow! I love [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]. Great combo.

The rest of the names on your list all seem very…hipster-y to me, I guess, and they aren’t really my style. So [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] definitely gets my vote!

I’m surprised to see so many Berries so negative about the use of Ruslan. OK I knew a very lovely Ruslan for a short time and so am predisposed to like the name, but I also think many of them are mispronouncing it to themselves. The Ruslan I knew didn’t rhyme at all with “rust” - it’s a long “u” sound like “oo”. Anyway I vote for that name. I also think the whole flow argument is a bit overblown. [name_m]How[/name_m] often are you going to call your child by all three names?? I think a name that is meaningful to you and your husband and that you both agree on is the most important. All of your options are going to be just fine for baby, but my personal opinion would be to go with Ruslan.
Thanks for the word on pronunciation! I was indeed imagining the “rus” sound from “rust.” The “oo” sound is much more appealing. But then I guess the question is will it be chronically mispronounced and if so, will that bother you/your future kid.
