I have previously asked for help as this baby girl due in a week is nameless and remains so. Her brother is [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Kevin[/name_m] O’[name_m]Donnell[/name_m] and my husband and I just cannot find a middle ground on our taste in girls names.
My suggestions have been:
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] (he started to pronounce this [name_f]Bea[/name_f]-rtix and it annoyed me )
[name_f]Bianca[/name_f]
[name_f]Ally[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Norah[/name_f]
[name_f]Ally[/name_f]
His suggestions have been:
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Micheline[/name_f] (these first two are both aunts of his)
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f]
[name_f]Martina[/name_f]
We have such different taste and I just can’t get on board at all with anything he has put forward and it’s all starting to bother me . Please help me with some new suggestions ”. Thank you.
My favourites from your list is [name_f]Bianca[/name_f], [name_f]Norah[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]. I think all three names sound beautiful with brother [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. Perhaps you would like to consider using [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] or [name_f]Micheline[/name_f] as a middle? unless you have already settled on one.
I think there is a middle ground here. He seems to like long, decidedly feminine names that are traditional but have never been terribly popular, whereas your style is a bit more streamlined, but still fairly traditional. [name_m]How[/name_m] about:
[name_f]Ally[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], [name_f]Alessia[/name_f], [name_f]Alana[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Alina[/name_f], or [name_f]Alison[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilian[/name_f]
[name_f]Claudia[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (maybe with the nn [name_f]Nora[/name_f])
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f]/[name_u]Izzy[/name_u]
[name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Amity[/name_f]
[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
I think there are lots of ways to achieve a middle ground between more grand names like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Micheline[/name_f] and more short and sweet names like [name_f]Ally[/name_f] and [name_f]Norah[/name_f]. To me, these are interesting, ear-catching names that have a little bit of that sweet factor, like:
• [name_f]Carys[/name_f]
• [name_f]Colette[/name_f]
• [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
• Ellarie
• [name_f]Flora[/name_f]
• [name_u]Hadley[/name_u]
• [name_f]Isla[/name_f]
• [name_f]Kayla[/name_f]
• [name_f]Luna[/name_f]
• [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
• [name_f]Macy[/name_f]
• [name_f]Perrie[/name_f] (can also be a nickname for [name_u]Harper[/name_u] or [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m])
• [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
• [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
• [name_f]Stella[/name_f]
• [name_u]Waverly[/name_u]
• [name_f]Zailie[/name_f]
[name_f]Norah[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] would be a gorgeous name! It goes well with [name_m]Leo[/name_m] too. Would your husband be okay with [name_f]Norah[/name_f], or did he not like any of your favorites?
