One word reaction to this name?

After months of indecision, my hubby and I have finally agreed on a name for on of the twins if it’s a boy (I hoping for one boy and one girl, then it’s all sorted!) So your first thought on:

[name]Charles[/name] [name]Ellington[/name] [name]Ford[/name] nn [name]Charlie[/name]

Is it too pretentious? I’d love to know your thoughts!

Thanks,
[name]Polly[/name]

Like!

(That’s my one word reaction. Not too pretentious, sounds really nice in my ears!)

Am I allowed to answer with an emoticon? The full name does sound a little pretentious at first -but only because of the [name]Ellington[/name]. [name]Charlie[/name] [name]Ford[/name] is a completely approachable and cute name (which I assume he’ll be going by most of the time) and [name]Charles[/name] [name]Ellington[/name] [name]Ford[/name] makes it a much more complete, classic name which will suit an adult no matter what career he chooses later in life.

Distinguished

Depends: Is [name]Ford[/name] the surname or second middle?

Surname: Dashing.
Second Middle: Ehhh.

It’s not too pretentious, but it feels a bit…much. Is there a reason for [name]Ellington[/name] being used? It’s a street name here, and the ton ending sounds very [name]Hilton[/name]-esque.

[name]Ford[/name] is the last name, unfortunately it makes it sound slightly more pretentious, but then again all of our sons have fairly pretentious sounding names with [name]Ford[/name] on the end

I should have probably explained [name]Ellington[/name]. On my husbands side each son has a surname from the previous generation as a middle name to keep the surnames going if their isn’t anyone to pass them on. Our sons middle names are, [name]Paxton[/name] ([name]Teddy[/name]), [name]Tennyson[/name] ([name]Max[/name]) and [name]Sawyer[/name] ([name]August[/name]). [name]Ellington[/name] is another last name that hasn’t had the chance to be carried on so that’s why its in the middle

Thanks for the feedback so far!

[name]Love[/name]!

If I were allowed a second word, it would be “dignified”.

Congrats and good luck!

Perfect!
Sounds great with the rest of your crew, adorable and endearing nn with a striking full name he can grow into, PLUS a family history connection. That’s an A+ to me!

I love it! I don’t think it sounds too pretentious. But even if it did, who cares! I like pretentious! I think it is a very classy name. And I love the nn [name]Charlie[/name].

GREAT!
(Especially after your explanation, I see nothing wrong with it. I only thought it might sound pretentious if you were doing two middle names but this way it is perfect. I think [name]Charlie[/name] fits in with your other boys really well.) =]

Dashing. Although “distinguished” was the word I was looking for, I just couldn’t find it. I think it’s one of those names that people would think was pretentious, but I just figured [name]Ellington[/name] had some significance, so it didn’t bother me at all. I think [name]Charles[/name] [name]Ellington[/name] [name]Ford[/name] nn [name]Charlie[/name]'s adorable. Besides, I think using the nn [name]Charlie[/name] (rather than insisting on [name]Charles[/name]) takes away all the pretentiousness.

Besides, [name]Teddy[/name], [name]Max[/name], [name]Gus[/name], and [name]Charlie[/name] are adorable together!

[name]Love[/name] it, very sturdy!

meh!
Sorry, but I prefer the middle name to [name]Charles[/name]. I know tons of [name]Charles[/name] and Charlies and am quite bored with it.
[name]Love[/name] your other boys’ middle names as well.
