[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are not expecting or TTC but have been trying to think of names for the possible future. So far we aren’t very good at it lol.
Some of the names we like are
[name_f]Iris[/name_f] - We are afraid this is becoming to popular
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] - Maybe to close to our nieces name [name_f]Aliah[/name_f]
He loves
[name_f]Jade[/name_f] - I like it as a middle name only.
We like names that’s aren’t super popular but not to unusual.
I love [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]! [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] is nice, just less my style.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you often see [name_f]Aliah[/name_f]? If she and your daughter would be spending a lot of time together, I could see [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] being too close. If not, I think it would work fine - the “r” sound is quite prominent in [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] and that would set them apart.
I don’t know about your area, but as much as I see [name_f]Iris[/name_f] in name forums, I have never met a little girl named [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. Not sure where you live, but it’s #253 on the SSA list and it’s been rising for about 15 years but not really quickly. If you hear it around a lot, though, that would be a better indication for where you live.
Some random others you might like (sorry for any repeats):
I honestly don’t like [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. I think you’re right about the popularity, and when I hear it, I think of the iris in your eye. I do like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. I can imagine it on an adorable little girl and an adult interviewing for a job, but I do associate it with the Scooby Doo character. [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], to me, is a bit of a mouthfull and it does sound somewhat similar to [name_f]Aliah[/name_f], but not horribly. [name_m]How[/name_m] often are they going to see each other? Maybe as the mother of [name_f]Aliah[/name_f] what she thinks? I like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] the best. Other suggestions:
