I love the name [name]Octavia[/name].

I personally don’t think you could go wrong with any of these names. They are all positively lovely.

The meaning of a name is important to me. With that in mind:

[name]Catherine[/name] (pure):

[name]Ophelia[/name] (help)
[name]Octavia[/name] (eighth)
[name]Ottilia[/name] (prosperous in battle)
[name]Aurelia[/name] (gold)

I voted for [name]Aurelia[/name] because who doesn’t want to be: pure gold.

In order of my favorites:

[name]Aurelia[/name]/[name]Ophelia[/name] (I have an unfair bias with [name]Ophelia[/name] though)
[name]Octavia[/name]/[name]Ottilia[/name]

Again, I don’t think you could go wrong with any.

I voted for [name]Ophelia[/name], but I also [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Octavia[/name] and [name]Aurelia[/name].

I absolutely love [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name]. Go with your heart and try not to over-think it (haha, easier said than done I know!)! [name]Ophelia[/name] flows well and is so feminine and sophisticated. And it’s unique so if your baby girl decides she isn’t crazy about [name]Catherine[/name] (you know how most of us go thru a “I want to be [name]UNIQUE[/name]” phase in our teens), she would have a very unique middle to use as well!

But all of your choices are beautiful, great name picks!

I like [name]Ophelia[/name] and [name]Octavia[/name] the best, slightly prefer [name]Ophelia[/name].

[name]Catherine[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name] means “pure help” which I think is very nice.

[name]Catherine[/name] [name]Octavia[/name] is striking. [name]Octavia[/name] is one of my personal favorites. It’s feminine, strong, elegant, luscious, and ornate without being frilly or unwieldy. I also like [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name].

[name]Catherine[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name] gets my vote.
I like [name]Ottoline[/name] better than [name]Ottilia[/name]. [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Ottoline[/name] is pretty.
I know a [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Avalon[/name].
If you want an O name, you can spell [name]Aurelia[/name] with an O. I know an [name]Odette[/name] [name]Orelie[/name]. She put the e with the accent in it cuz she didn’t like the oral part of [name]Oralie[/name]. Hey - What about [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Odette[/name]?

btw I like your style
Classic first name with an offbeat middle
[name]William[/name] [name]Balthazar[/name] is really handsome!

[name]Octavia[/name] is my pick, both because it’s my favorite of the four and because you said it’s the best compromise name.

[name]Catherine[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name] gets my vote!

[name]Catherine[/name] [name]Avalon[/name] was actually on one of our previous lists!

Huh, I never thought about spelling [name]Aurelia[/name] with an “O”. [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Orelia[/name] – that does look rather nice. I’ll see what hubby thinks when he gets home. Thanks for the suggestion!

[name]Odette[/name] is cute, but not really my style.

I like [name]Ophelia[/name] and [name]Octavia[/name] almost evenly. [name]Ophelia[/name] is a softer name and [name]Octavia[/name] crisper, so from a pure phonetcs perspective I’d favor [name]Octavia[/name]. It’s almost more regal, unusual and striking. But the meaning isn’t much…

[name]Catherine[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name] is gorgeous. I love [name]Catherine[/name] with a C, and putting [name]Ophelia[/name] in the middle spot makes it more usable without the negative [name]Shakespeare[/name] connotations. [name]Catherina[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name] is also lovely.

Name twin! [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name]! Literally just sighed. So beautiful.

Not gonna lie… Slightly jealous that you can use [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Ophelia[/name]. [name]Don[/name]'t give it up!

They are ALL beautiful options, but I’m sweet on [name]Ottilia[/name].

My favourite is [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name] too, for the meaning of pure gold. My 2nd favourite is [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name].

So, [name]Orelia[/name] is out. DH says it has to be spelled [name]Aurelia[/name]. Oh, well, worth a shot.

And thanks to everybody who has commented and voted so far! I’m going to sleep on it, but at the moment, I am leaning toward [name]Ophelia[/name].

I voted [name]Ottilia[/name] though I actually perfer [name]Ottilie[/name] or [name]Ottoline[/name]! All your choices are gorgeous… [name]Octavia[/name] would be my second choice in this case but I love [name]Aurelia[/name] and then [name]Ophelia[/name] too…you can’t go wrong! Tough choice… Maybe when you meet her one will jump out!

And the winner is… [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name]! I just can’t pass up the chance to use the beautiful [name]Ophelia[/name]. I only wish DH adored it as much as I do, but he assured me this morning that it was a gorgeous name (despite the [name]Hamlet[/name] association) and that he would come to love it because it was her name.

Thanks again to everybody who responded! Y’all were a great help!
