Ophelia, Olivia and Cora

What do you think of [name]Ophelia[/name], [name]Olivia[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] as individual names? My boyfriend and I talked about names just the other day and he said he really liked [name]Cora[/name], while I love [name]Ophelia[/name]. [name]Olivia[/name] is the one we both like.

Any middle name suggestions for these three? Thanks!

[name]Ophelia[/name] is a very pretty name. I think its slightly frilly sounding, but still usable. The history behind the name is kind of morbid, but if you fon’t care about that, then go for it!
[name]Olivia[/name] I like but its a bit too popular for my tastes. Although I adore the nn [name]Liv[/name].
[name]Cora[/name] is very sweet and old fashioned. I do think its a bt trendy right now, but certainly not in the top 100.

[name]Hope[/name] that helps

You seem to have a very similar naming style to me for girls, I’m loving the girls names in your signature.

Out of [name]Ophelia[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], and [name]Cora[/name], I love all three…

[name]Cora[/name] is my favorite. I love it by itself - it is simple, pretty, not overused, and has a historical feel, which I like in a name. I also like it as a nickname for [name]Cordelia[/name], [name]Coraline[/name], [name]Caroline[/name], etc

[name]Ophelia[/name] would have to be next. This one definitely has that historical vibe I love, along with literary cred, and being a word nerd, I love that too. I also think that while it is a fairly uncommon name, it is still familiar enough that it doesn’t seem too out there.

[name]Olivia[/name] is so pretty, but I personally don’t love it enough to overlook it’s popularity. There are so many little Olivias out there, I think one of the above would be a better pick.

I love [name]Ophelia[/name], but I don’t know how usable it actually is. It’s heavily connected with [name]Shakespeare[/name], and the associations are a mixture of good and bad depending on how you interpret the character of [name]Ophelia[/name]. I also really love [name]Cora[/name]. What about [name]Cordelia[/name] as a compromise?

I like [name]Olivia[/name], but the popularity of it is just too much.

[name]Ophelia[/name] is my favorite of the three. I think it’s a beautiful name.

[name]Olivia[/name] is gorgeous also, but I know so many little [name]Olivia[/name]'s that I personally am a little sick of it.

You really can’t go wrong with any of the three.

[name]Ophelia[/name] - love it. It’s a mn on my top four. I find it slightly unusable as a FN, but definitely usable as a MN, and I think it’s just so gorgeous. I would love to meet a little [name]Ophelia[/name]. I think part of my hesitation with [name]Ophelia[/name] is that it doesn’t seem to have a ton of cute nns. [name]Effie[/name] and [name]Lia[/name], maybe, but I don’t find those terribly cute. I like [name]Lia[/name] more than anything, though… I think it’s a great alternative for [name]Olivia[/name], though–same Shakespearean beauty, but a lot less popular. [name]Olivia[/name]'s got a lot better of a namesake, though.

[name]Olivia[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name]. [name]Olivia[/name] is on my top 3; I adore it. Twelfth [name]Night[/name] is my favorite Shakespearean play, and possibly in my top 3 literary works ever. I adore it. I like [name]Viola[/name] more as a character, but I love [name]Olivia[/name] so much more as a name. Plus, I figure between [name]Olivia[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] on my top 3, I’ve aptly covered the play. I love the nns, from the vintagy [name]Olive[/name] to the modern [name]Liv[/name] to the more striking [name]Via[/name] (and even the more obscure nns, like [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Libby[/name], [name]Lily[/name], etc. that are sort of a stretch) to the more boyish [name]Ollie[/name]. I would love to have a daughter named [name]Olivia[/name], or even meet an [name]Olivia[/name]! I don’t come across that many little girls with the name, popular though it is.

[name]Cora[/name] - love. I love the tie to [name]James[/name] Fenimore [name]Cooper[/name]'s The Last of the Mohicans–and I love that [name]Cooper[/name] created the name for the book! It’s just fab, and so vintage and sweet. I also like [name]Coralie[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name], but [name]Cora[/name] on its own is just lovely, as well.

[name]Olivia[/name] is my favorite, followed by [name]Cora[/name], and then [name]Ophelia[/name] (for a FN, anyway!). But honestly, I adore them all.
