[name_f]Odelia[/name_f] for me! I’m not familiar with that meaning, but I love it. I’ve used [name_f]Odilia[/name_f] (which I assume is the same pronunciation) in my top 5–[name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Odilia[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]!–so I’m obviously a fan.
There’s something so appealing about [name_f]Odelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Odilia[/name_f] to me–I’d love to meet a little one with the name. I think [name_f]Della[/name_f] and [name_f]Lia[/name_f] are adorable nns for it.
I also love how [name_f]Odelia[/name_f] doesn’t hold the tragic Shakespearean connections [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] does, but then again, I love [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], too, and that “ph” in the middle is so gorgeous. I like that it’s tied to [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m], period (huge [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] fan!), but I dislike that it holds ties to such a tragedy, I suppose. For some reason [name_f]Odelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Odilia[/name_f] reminds me of a happy little girl in Germany, which sort of makes me happy, because I’m partially [name_m]German[/name_m].
I’m not sure why (I think that)–I think it’s probably because I found it on a list of [name_m]German[/name_m] names on BtN.
I like [name_f]Odelia[/name_f] because it seems less like a tongue-twister.
