Opinion of this fantasy name

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries,

Not too long ago I came across a name and I’ve been considering it for my main character. However I’m not entirely sold on it and would like some feedback. The name is: Cariad. And it’s for a girl.

Keep in mind this is a fantasy story. I tend to go for uncommon names but avoid made up ones. And so my question is this: What do you think of the name? What comes to mind upon hearing it?

Initially, I was a bit turned off by it. But, maybe thirty seconds later, I was kinda into it. It reminds me of Galahad, like a medieval night, and he can be either super pompous and in love with himself, or like a nervous guy who just wants to do the right thing even if it could kill him. Either way, he’s a hero.

So, yeah, it had to grow on me a bit, but I like it :slight_smile:

I like it. It’s like [name_f]Soledad[/name_f] and Caritas put together, foreign but doesn’t sound made up. A fitting choice for a fantasy story.
