I LOVE SOREN

I have heard it for a girl, surprisingly, though I think she spelled it differently. [name_m]Soren[/name_m] is a character on one of my favorite tv shows too I love it because it sounds serious yet light, very blue-gray, and fantasy yet down to earth.

I love it, I will likely use it if we have a boy Feb 2021. Without an accent on the ā€˜o’ I pronounce it like [name_u]Loren[/name_u] but with an S, or SOAR-en if that makes more sense.

If it were spelled traditionally instead if being anglicized then I would pronounce it according to spelling and heritage:
SĆøren in Danish or Norwegian sounds like Suh-ren or [name_m]Sir[/name_m]-en
Sƶren in [name_m]German[/name_m] sounds like Zure-en or Zoo-ren
Sƶren in Swedish sounds like Sur-en or Ser-en

… I think.

Very blue-grey, I agree! I’ve never heard it put that way before. Cool, thanks for this comment!

SOREN IS SO AMAZING

It’s been on my list for years! I used it on a character a couple of years ago and then again recently. It’s definitely not too uncommon! I pronounce it SOAR-en/Loren with an S, as pp said.
Like the past two have said, it’s definitely blue-gray. So wonderful haha

I pronounce it sur-ENN. I haven’t heard it in real life, but I’ve seen it a lot on NB and BabyCenter. I don’t think it’s too uncommon.

I like [name_m]Soren[/name_m]! It’s gentle but rugged

I really like it in theory, but I always think of ā€œsoaring.ā€ When I hear the name I immediately get that song from High School Musical stuck in my head: ā€œSoarin’, flyin’, there’s not a star in heaven that we can’t reach!ā€

If you don’t get that reference, it’s a very handsome name! I just can’t really love it bc of that!

My grandfather was named [name_m]Soren[/name_m]. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the name and wish I had used it for one of my kids. However, one of my daughters has stated she will definitely use it if she has a boy so that makes me happy! I think its a noble name but not fussy, pretentious kind of noble. More likely someone with honor, courage and integrity but a little on the quiet side.

I know a [name_m]Soren[/name_m] pronounced as if you were sounding it out with the ā€˜o’ being the same sound as in dog or got.
