Opinion on girls name, Airlie?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] guys,

What are your opinions on the girls name, Airlie? My partner mentioned it to me out of the blue today and i think i like it

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think its common or uncommon and what are your thoughts on the name?

xoxo

I think it’s uncommon  But I like it quite a bit. But I’m not sure how I feel about the spelling!

Airlie is an uncommon babyname. I think it has a pleasant sound and I very much like it. If you’re in Australia I might place Airlie in the middlename position because of the beach, but I think outside of Australia you won’t get the association often.

It’s not personally my taste

It’s the name of a close family friend of mine and I love it for that reason - it has such a beautiful, light sound, and I’ve never met anyone else with the name.

I like it!! There’s also Eirlys, which I think is closely, too.

Very sweet! I’m Australian too and don’t know the beach, so I’d say it’s not a well known association at all

Google Airlie [name_m]Beach[/name_m]. It’s a town in Australia. Tropical holiday spot. [name_m]Just[/name_m] so as you know.

I love the name Airlie! It is a beautiful rare name.
I live in Australia and it is a beautiful beach in sunny Queensland! So if you are in Australia maybe place it in a middle name position. Or Aerilee.

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce it, [name_f]AIR[/name_f]-lee? It’s not my cup of tea, but I’m intrigued to know how you say it.

it is pronounced [name_f]Air[/name_f]-lee. I happen to live in Brisbane so i know all about Airlie [name_m]Beach[/name_m]. It is kind of why i love the name. Airlie [name_m]Beach[/name_m] is a beautiful place and after all this is the sunny state with lots of beautiful tropical areas. I feel it is a nice beachy, feminine name

Not a fan of the name of the spelling, sorry.
It just looks too made up to me.
I would say it is uncommon I have never heard it before.

I think it looks beautiful!

I love it! Nameberry has it listed as a boys’ name, but I can only see it on a girl. [name_m]Airlie[/name_m] is really, really cute.

I think it’s lovely. It has a breezy sound, a pretty spelling, and is generally very appealing and evocative.

I think it’s a bit like a new [name_u]Leslie[/name_u], a Scottish surname that could work equally well as a girl’s or a boy’s name.

XD
I’m in Brisbane too! I have been thinking about the name alot lately and I think it is fine even if you live in QLD.
People name children [name_m]Austin[/name_m], [name_u]Denver[/name_u], [name_u]Indiana[/name_u], [name_f]Asia[/name_f](one of my cousins friends named her daughter this), [name_f]India[/name_f] etc and they are very very well known places.
