I think I type in why I like the names that I listed here, just for funz…
[name_f] Vivien[/name_f] - I always liked [name_u]Vivien[/name_u], to me I picture a smart, confident, and fiercely beautiful woman. I love the nickname [name_f]Viv[/name_f], and my mother name is [name_f]Lilian[/name_f] – which can make [name_u]Vivien[/name_u] a sort of honor name.
[name_f] Sylvia[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] )- I love the sound and feel of both [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], I love how it means “from the forest.” This name just sounds musical to me.
[name_f] Roxana[/name_f] - Probably my least favorite of the list. I love names that end in “anna.” I like how it means ‘dawn,’ but I’m not crazy about the nickname [name_f]Roxy[/name_f].
[name_f] Claudia[/name_f] - Oddly enough [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_u]Rice[/name_u]'s character that is named [name_f]Claudia[/name_f] has made me really like this name. I hate that it means “lame” though.
[name_f] Johanna[/name_f] - As far as “-anna” names goes, this is my favorite. It’s classy, but not done to death. I like the [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] association to [name_u]Sweeney[/name_u] [name_m]Todd[/name_m], and J.K. Rowling’s first name is [name_f]Joanne[/name_f]. So this name can be a honor name to both of those people.
[name_f] Clea[/name_f] ([name_m]Clay[/name_m] - ah)- I just happened to run into this name. I like how simple yet unique it is. It took me a long time to figure out which pronunciation I like more, [name_m]Clay[/name_m] - uh or Clee -uh. I ended up liking [name_m]Clay[/name_m] - uh better.
[name_f] Maeve[/name_f] - I have a large Irish ancestry in my family line, so I really like [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. I like how it’s pronounced ([name_f]May[/name_f] - v), I like the history and meaning of it. I’m usually not too crazy about one syllable names, but this one packs a lot of punch in it one syllable.
[name_f] Matilda[/name_f] - [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] Wormwood was a favorite character of mine when I was little. I love the sound and meaning of the name. Also this name comes with a lot of nicknames: [name_u]Matty[/name_u], [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], [name_f]Tilda[/name_f], etc.
[name_f] Gemma[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Gemma[/name_f], it’s short, different, and I think it can work with just about any personality
[name_f] Melina[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Mila[/name_f])- I like it for the nickname to [name_f]Mila[/name_f], I used to like the sound of it. But all these “melena” comments has put me off of this name a bit. I like the suggestions to look at [name_f]Milena[/name_f], though.
